Builder gel removal, what am I doing wrong?

If I’m soaking a builder base what I would normally do is file off all of the colour using an efile leaving the builder base careful not to touch the natural nail. Then I get plastic manicure bowls that are originally for soaking the cuticles and pour in some acetone and soak both hands :) or...

    Non standard salon gel nails?

There’s a lot of talk about nss (non standard salon) nails and recently a few nail techs were arguing in the comments on a fb post over removing gel products. Essentially one nail tech said that if gel nails don’t soak off using acetone then the products used are“nss gel”. I’m really confused...

    Bleeding nail bed

This sounds like something someone who’s careless and uneducated would do and I can’t believe I’ve done it. Told at work I was infiling a regular client(who I’ve never had a problem with her nails before) started as normal filed off the colour debulked the gel enhancement and cuticle work...

    OPI Gel Colour

Um not really, we don’t stick it in the salon anymore so I haven’t used it in awhile best thing to do is check the color before buying I’d say :) x

    OPI Gel Colour

The only problem I had was that not all of their colors had strong pigment, some colors like “give me space” needed up to 5 coats of color and still look semi transparent on the nail:( x

    Lifting?

Lightly buffing the nail plate, cuticle work, dehydrator and then primer when I apply the gel i avoid the cuticle so I’m not sure why this is happening:/

    Lifting?

I am a newly qualified nail tech and I’m having trouble with gel lifting, when I go to start an infil I file away the whitish section of gel nearest the cuticle but as soon as I file it off it’s almost as if it spreads further down the nail causing me to have to remove the entire nail all...

    Recently qualified and losing confidence

One client did come back during the first week and I was so embarrassed [emoji20] She wanted mermaid powder on her nails but it was my first time using it and it went so lumpy and weird. Long story short, we were able to book her in and one of the other girls fixed them for her :/ I’ve asked my...

When you qualified your then expected to go out and work on REAL clients and I feel so nervous about it:/ I...

    Recently qualified and losing confidence

That’s a really good idea! I think I’ll say to one of the other girls who started two years ago and see how she found it when she first qualified. I think what happens is that I get nervous Incase I make a mistake and then end up making a mistake because I’m too nervous [emoji28] hopefully...
