Hi Charlie. I've been using Ikoniq for years and I'm not planning to change as I've sampled other brands and not found anything to compete in terms of ease of application and staying power with a decent finish that won't dull down etc.
Anything you want to know feel free to message me on...
Hi MoS
As an Ikon.iQ tech I hope I can help you out here...
Prima gels are indeed pure gel and highly pigmented. If you placed a dot of gel on a surface it would spread a little but the edges of the product would maintain colour density. Most are indeed full coverage in one coat.
The fact...
Hi Eftyhia,
One thing to consider regarding the price of Ikon.iQ gels is coverage... they are largely all one coat. So for example, if a £5 bottle needs three coats and a £15 bottle only needs one then there's actually no difference in cost.
Price wise for me they are actually more affordable...
There's nothing wrong with those nails.. you did a great job.😁
I want to give you a photography tip though.
The fingers on the models right hand are slightly folding in under her left hand. This makes the nails look shorter than they really are and shorter than the nails on her other hand. Plus...
All nail products are vegan as in they don't contain animal products.
As for animal friendly, I think reputable professional brands generally tend to be these days.
As Bels Gels said, the sensible thing to do is think about your priorities rather than look for recommendations...
What is your price range?
Do you want HEMA free?
Will your business have a particular ethos you wish to promote and will the chosen product reflect that?
What level of support is...
Regarding the temperature thing. I had a hospital appointment last week. To gain entry you had to say if you had any symptoms (there was a printed list posted up and a guard at the door). Once inside your temperature was taken and written on a slip for you to show your consultant and you were...
Frankly Tuan, if I had invested a fortune in developing competition standard gel formulas that don’t contain a single high risk compound in their composition... and then invested another fortune to authenticate them against the highest EU standards... AND spent a fortune working in collaboration...
I have an auto immune condition that has affected my working memory, since acquiring it I’ve learned to sail and passed my day skipper and learned to do nails and doing very well at it. It doesn’t get in the way if you don’t let it.[emoji1360]
Tuan, you do know that Ikon.iQ is the safest, most hypoallergenic gel on the planet? You should research before you recite. Tsk... Honestly![emoji849][emoji38]
Lol, my record so far with Ikon.iQ is a lady who partly lives abroad.... She went for 8 weeks and it was still intact on her return, albeit looking a bit funny as her natural nails had grown out so much.
Increasing cure time is a very useful troubleshooting exercise. If your application is a touch too thick that can cause issues, also, are you capping the free edge?
I think the key thing here is that the gel polish needs to remain intact for as long as it takes for the nails to grow out and need redoing.I have a lady who partly lives both here and in the Canaries and her gels have been lasting eight weeks! She even had to cut her nails once and it still...
As you say she is virtually house bound and in her mid 80's with terminal lung cancer I don't expect she could be an asymptomatic carrier! She is extremely vulnerable with her age and health complications, encountering the Covid19 virus would undoubtedly be catastrophic for her.
I agree you...
Pretty much any standard plastic tip will be ok with acrylic liquid and powder Dawnlee. You can get into really fancy ones but they are quite expensive. Best to pick up application techniques on the cheap and cheerful first. Then you will know what you want from your tips performance wise and be...
I agree about online courses for the fundamentals. At the beginning you really need hands on tuition. As 3littlegems has said... VTCT level 2 Nail Technology or a VERY good brand. Bear in mind that a good brand doesn't necessarily mean the most expensive or popular. You'll need to do careful...
Hmmm, I hear what you say Haircuts and I largely agree with you except I can imagine, as in all industries, there will be those who have been operating for a long time who will be a bit set in their ways. Not necessarily updating their own skills and knowledge.
It would be handy to have taster...
