    Schwarzkopf Blondme Lifting advice.

Hi - they don’t lift as well as traditional 1:2 highlifts (3 levels at best imo) but tone much better.

    Psoriasis and bleach

Hi - I have psoriasis and find high lift and 40 much gentler on my scalp than bleach. I find the peroxide quite soothing! Just make sure the area hasn’t been scratched and the plagues aren’t raw. Let them build up a little if possible.

    Color Touch hair condition

You’re likely correct - CT is more damaging than KP. CT contains ethanolamine, a type of ammonia that will never fully wash out of the hair. KP contains only traditional ammonia, which “leaves” the hair after it is washed. I personally avoid ethanolamine like the plague.

Thinning hair: hair loss/hair toppers advice

That’s a pity - keep us posted if your friend finds a solution she is happy with. It’s such an upsetting condition. Fingers crossed for her.

Thinning hair: hair loss/hair toppers advice

I’ve only tried the Nanogen one from Boots, which is great on my Mum’s thinning hair (androgenic/hormonal hair loss). I don’t think it will be as effective on bald spots if your friend has any, but if she has very fine, thinning hair it will definitely help! You and your friend might have...

Thinning hair: hair loss/hair toppers advice

Hey Ron, that’s such a shame for your friend. Obviously, the top of the head is the most difficult to cover with a piece and still look natural. Does she have volume in the sides of her hair that she can do a deep parting with to cover the top centre (if it’s long enough). And maybe add some...

    Ammonia and ethanolamine

    Thanks Ronray 😊

    Grey hair coverage question

It means that coverage will be more translucent on grey hair. Tint can’t pick and choose which strands to give coverage, after all. All strands are equal, and each strand will receive a maximum of 70% coverage. Consider the other perspective - the meaning would be that 30% of hair would be left...

    Ammonia and ethanolamine

Hi All, I’ve noticed some formulae “boast” lower ammonia levels, supplemented instead by ethanolamine. Is there really any benefit of reducing ammonia and adding ethanolamine? Would lift be compromised? Condition? Am I missing something by thinking alkalinity is alkalinity, so therefore does it...

    KP/CT to Illumina formula

Thanks Ronray. I know Illumina is pretty translucent but was hoping the violet kick would tone things well enough. I think I’ll suggest just going one shade lighter for better control but will uses your suggested tones. Thanks again :)

    KP/CT to Illumina formula

The client I have in mind is a natural very warm level 8 with a a few greys. She wants to be cooler but not so much that it jars with her regrowth, so that’s why I immediately thought of /97. She only wants to be a shade or two lighter also.

    KP/CT to Illumina formula

Hey Ronray, I’m not keen on KP since the formula change so looking for an alternative.

    KP/CT to Illumina formula

Hi All, Hope you are doing OK. How can I replicate the Les Beiges tones (/97) from the KP and CT lines with Illumina? I know Illumina is violet based, so I’m apprehensive about it pulling too cool. Any formula recs much appreciated!

    Lanza stockists

Does anyone know where I can get hold of the colour line? Thanks

Wella KP 12/89 with 12/1 still too warm

Hey Ronray. Love your thinking and way of explaining this. Hoping you can kindly explain this a bit more. Why the 10s instead of highlift? Is it because they have more tone? Wouldn’t the lack of lift leave more orange/yellow tones to be exposed over time?

    Holy grail hair products?

Silicone and heat is a damaging combination (and silicone build-up can affect colour absorption), so I’m silicone-free where possible. Recently I’ve been really enjoying a cheapie-but-goodie L’Oreal serum from Boots that has a nice combination of oil and protein - “Dream Lengths”, or something...

Schwarzkopf users - product info request!

Hi All, Can anyone confirm if the Blondme Lifting range is being discontinued? Noticed the line is in Salon Services’ clearance section, and staff didn’t seem to know. Hoping it’s another repackaging/relaunch, as I adore this range! Thanks.

    L’Oréal help

Could it be that the cap had been left off the developer, or some other issue with the developer. Not ideal, but I would create a shadow root using a demi.

Wella colour help with high lift blondes

Sorry for the late reply - it’s a highlift designed for clients with up to 30% of white/grey hair.

Wella colour help with high lift blondes

In my experience, highlift can and will remove the banding. I personally don’t favour bleach for use on frequent root touch-ups because in my opinion overlap is inevitable, no matter how precise the application.
