I do the same as JCH :)

My lash client went elsewhere, now has bloodshot eye?

Hi all, hoping for some advice before I message my client back!! She's only been to me twice, she has been having extensions since October but moved to me in December. She didn't book in for her January infills, and when she eventually messaged I was fully booked and couldn't fit her in. She's...

    Mobile therapists

I usually work from home but when I moved I had so many old clients still wanting to book in with me I now rent a room 1 day a week back there so they can all come in - if you're on a mobile basis then as charlottehair says you could just do them all in one day. I've found that those who really...

Hand made or pre made fans?

When I was first building up speed I had pre-made fans the same brand as the lash trays I already had. If a set took a particularly long time I'd finish off with the pre-made fans. But my clients were aware of this as they knew I was still new to it. They did the job but overall didn't last as...

    Patch test time

Reactions can take up to 48 hours to occur so I would say absolutely not sufficient However, I use LashBase glue who have recently changed guidelines to say that patch testing is not a requirement - they have info on their website and a modified consent form to download. It's fine with my...

    Eyelash extensions

Personally I advertise as fully qualified because in my head fully certified sounds more like one of those online courses you do that certificate you to do a service, and I think fully qualified makes it sound like you've done all your hands on training etc. But that's just my preference and how...

    Eyebrow tinting

I do the same as bbb93 - just leave on for 1 minute and show them in a mirror. I have a really nice light brown I use which is basically the same as when I used to mix brown and grey, and I find 2 lots of 1 minute tend to be plenty, and because they see it at a halfway stage it's not too much of...

    Pricing classic eyelash extensions

It varies massively, you'll need to work out your costs and find the right price for you. Within 20 miles of where I work classic lashes start at £30 and I've seen them go up to £55. I've also seen Russians priced between £30 and £70. I don't think there is really a "going" rate, I would say...

My eyelash glue takes too long to dry!

If you work fast then I'd recommend Lash Base extreme, dries in 2 seconds and I've found it to be good value. Also since making my first purchase with them I've since had various vouchers for VAT free weekends or discounts across the whole website which are great for stocking up!

    Eyelash extension glue

I also use Lash Base extreme, you do have to make sure you store it correctly though, I had to get rid of 1 bottle early but it was my own fault for being lazy packing away!

Eyelash extension advice for a newbie!

I like the Noir lashes, I've not tried their regular lashes, but the self-fanning ones were nice and easy to use and seem to have retained well so far. They were more expensive than their regular lashes, so I'm not sure I'd buy them again - they maybe saved me 10 minutes over an application but...

Eyelash extension advice for a newbie!

Personally I don't think "up to 3 weeks" makes it a great glue for retention, this is the bare minimum I would expect from eyelash extension glue.

Eyelash extension advice for a newbie!

I use Lash Base glue, the retention has always been great - I also stock their sensitive glue but I only have to use this on 1 client. Lashes I buy from a variety of places, I've not got a "favourite", but I've recently tried out Noir "self fanning" lashes (available from lashart) and was...

    Un-insured treatments?

When I started eyelash extensions the Beauty Guild covered me as a student for £25, then when I was qualified and earning I just upgraded it. Maybe give them a call? The £25 covered me for all the treatments I was learning (earlier this year, so prices shouldn't have increased massively) and...

Which is the best lash lift & lash tint product?

I haven't used mylash before but lashbase and salon systems are both available in the UK (don't know if you are, I just mean they're available here as you mentioned USA) and I have had great lifts with these. I use Refectocil for my tinting which I get from Salon Services. I wouldn't recommend...

    Semi permanent individual eyelashes

I get the clients to stay lying down with their eyes closed for a good 5 mins after I glue the last lash. For a new client I also often get them to sit up before opening their eyes, I find this helps stop as many fumes lingering around their eyes. Usually after their first couple of sets they...

    Pricing classic eyelash extensions

Ive always done infills at half the price of a full set. I get everyone to come for their infills at 2 weeks, if I find they're retaining enough that I'm happy to infill at 3 weeks then I discuss thay with them and they can have their infills at 3 weeks. I then charge the same price for all...
