Finally got the hair I wanted!

Hey, everybody, I have been asking last year around here for advice on how to get a lower maintenance blonde that is also lighter and cooler than my previously hi lift hair. After growing my roots out for a whole year (!), I went to a suuper pro and got an amazing result - She did a full...

    How often highlights touch-up?

Hi everyone, quick question - I am currently growing my roots out to go from hi lift blonde to foil highlights.it's been over 3 months and I plan on growing them at least 1-2 more. I realised I don't really like having a lot of dark root. So how often do you normally do a root touch up on full...

Going from full blonde to highlights?

Wow, makes perfect sense! Didn't even think about that! Will defo consider this version next time, but with a more outgrown root maybe? Like always, hair saving advice, Ronray! Much appreciated! 😇

Shampoo for colored hair, not too volumizing?

Wow..not really, tbh! Doesn't it *somewhat* damage hair?

Going from full blonde to highlights?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can enlighten me on the following: If I am currently an all over, solid hi lift blonde, could I go back to having highlights only (had them years back) next time I will be doing the root touch up? Meaning to do the touch up as highlights only and maybe wait...

Shampoo for colored hair, not too volumizing?

Thank you, Ronray! Hair is normal/coarse and always has had the tendency to get super puffy with washing. Scalp rather oily, ends dry.

Shampoo for colored hair, not too volumizing?

Hi all, my hair is hi lift blonde plus toned and I am searching for a good shampoo, suitable for color protection, BUT not leaving the hair too volumised/puffy. I always seem to have this issue, that my hair gets super soft and puffy after washing, esp. with certain shampoos. Or maybe I am doing...

What shade of blonde is this?

Anyone? I'm really struggling to determine my shade, to know what can be done next!

What shade of blonde is this?

Ok, I keep searching for the perfect shade of blonde. I have found a new, very experienced hairdresser, who works with Wella. She did my roots with koleston and the ends with colourtouch, she did some combos that I am unsure of (though she used something purple based for the toner, i think the...

    Bleaching over hi lift?

Hi guys, I am posting again since I have booked a consultation with another stylist in town, with great work and refferels. I ve been a hi lift blonde for 4 years, yet she clearly sugested that the only way to get rid of the dull warm tones would be bleaching, prob. with a low/20 vol developer...

New hairstylist or giving the old one another chance?

Thank you both PitaBread and Ronray for your kind and wise words..not an easy decision indeed, I def agree that trust is a big one in this relationship, I truly really want to find a person I can commit to, tired of trial and error on this one..Much appreciated, along with all of our previous...

New hairstylist or giving the old one another chance?

Ok, so I am calling again my beloved pro's who have always helped and might know better whether it's time for a new stylist or not in my case: as I wrote a while back, I have been a highlift blonde for 4 years, and have recently been to a new stylist, who has about 4 years of practice, who got...

    Redken or Alfaparf for blonde?

Well, I'm a bit weird like that too, I did that with perfumes I loved on someone, so I might just do that if I ever see a hair I love :D

    Redken or Alfaparf for blonde?

I did show pictures, too, but was told that those were on a lighter base, i.e. a 10, while I am a 9. Since I only put hi lift on, it is unlikely I will go super light. However, how do I tell the hairdresser to try mixing if she doesn't usually do that? Plus I have no idea what should be...

    Redken or Alfaparf for blonde?

Yikes...I was afraid of that, AcidPerm...she uses one shade of toner, which is a level 9 ashy violet to cancel out the yellow tones, never a mix of two or more...maybe I am always wrong in explaining what I want, since I aim for a cool, yet not grey/dull look

    Redken or Alfaparf for blonde?

Hey guys, I know this is very subjective, but which of the two brands would you say has a wider range of choice for blonde hair, in terms of hi lift, toners, gloss etc.? My current hairdresser uses Alfaparf and I cant seem to find a toner shade I like. We have a Redken specialist in town as...

Highlift blonde going back to highlights, is it possible?

Thank you so much, AcidPerm, it does make sense indeed. I am naturally a level 6/7 (different opinions from different hairdressers) and we usually use either a 9% or a mix of 9 with 12. But what I understand is that highlights would be quite damaging on what I currently have. What I was actually...

Highlift blonde going back to highlights, is it possible?

Umm sort of lol. I have had one nasty experience w. bleach when I went hi lift 4 years ago., So the ends of my hair still had some dark brown dye on them, so they have been bleached, w. Olaplex. That part of my hair was a MESS, super hard to comb, dry, horrible split ends etc. etc. Had to cut it...

Highlift blonde going back to highlights, is it possible?

Hi all, I have asked a few years back about this and didnt get a definite answer, so since I am flirting with this idea again, I'll just ask away: From your experience, is it possible and maybe not very damaging to go from an overall high lift blonde to just highlights? I have been a hi lift...
