Making up an old clients who's passed away

I've done it. The biggest tip I got beforehand that I was grateful for was "dont use an e-file" because another tech did and the lady's whole fingernail flew off. O.o The biggest problem was that her old nail polish would NOT come off. I just had to work over it. I cried, too. Sent from my...

Bio Sculpture LED lamp burning fingers

What products are you using? I can use shellac, IBD just gel, Brisa lite, and a few others, but Gelish causes swelling and blisters on my fingers. I'd bet money she is allergic to the product. Now when I try anything new, I test it right in the middle of my pinky nail. No touching of the...

    Help me, help my Dad!

I have a client who is paralyzed. Her fingers curve into her fist. I can't upload pics, but when I mani her I put a polar block(or any 4 sided buffing block) in her palm, and toe separaters between her fingers. As long as it doesn't hurt. Somedays her hands are tighter than others. If you try...

    Help, what is this condition?

Is it possible that it is just some base coat that didn't soak off all the way? If its slightly shiny, try soaking it off a bit longer. Sent from my Desire HD using SalonGeek

    Bio Sculpture & cuticle oil?

I don't work with bio sculpture, but I've NEVER heard of a brand who wouldn't recommend cuticle oil for home maintenance. I think who ever told her that was a ding bat. Sent from my Desire HD using SalonGeek

Help, my nail is falling off

I had a client transfer over to me once. Her doc said it was fungal. It took months to straighten out. It wasn't anything she did. She is such a clean person. All she wears is French. We talked about her history at the time, and suspect her local gym was the culprit. It wasn't like any other I...

How do you know which gels are which?

I would not wait 30 minutes... Some brands soak of in 5. I check every 5 minutes if the brand is unknown to me. If its flexible, it shouldn't take too long. If its a harder gel, then it may take 30, but if it hadn't budged by then, I'd just get to filing. Sent from my Desire HD using SalonGeek

    Gel lifting problem

Have you tried a search through the other posts? You have more options through a browser than on the phone app. I don't do a lot of traditional gels, but I know I've seen this in a thread before. Hope you find your answer. Sent from my Desire HD using SalonGeek

Gel/L&P won't last on my client's thumb and forefinger

Sorry to say, its just trial and error. Most likely, those are the fingers she uses the most, and its just gonna happen. I say ... don't give up, keep trying different things, length, product, shape, tip, etc. Just don't let it get you down if they don't stay. :) I have a girl who does hair...

    NSS salon

Listen to Verde. She's got the knowledge on this one. Some techs don't like infilling over someone else, and that's fine. It's all about your comfort zone. However... If you try to soak them off, and its mma, its gonna take forever, PLUS, once removed,.if the nail bed is to damaged to work...

    Pro Impressions tips with cut-outs?

I've only used them with acrylic. Perhaps a tiny bit of clear tape underneath, pulled off after the first cure would help? Sent from my Desire HD using SalonGeek

    Solar Nails

The price upgrade is the skill it takes to do the pink & white with the smile line, not the brand. The nss (non standard salons) sell that rubbish and use a white tip instead of powder, then clear or natural powder over the whole thing, and then use a gel top coat. Just keep out pamphlets and...

    Defeated

I have a couple clients it just won't stay on. Don't beat yourself up. Have her try to break the biting habit and try again. (i bite. It's a hard habit. She may not even realize she is picking. Sometimes I'll have a nail halfway off before I realize) and recently I realized that the reason my...
