    body wrap protocol

When we do wraps in the salon, we apply the body mask (algae/mud etc.) when they are led on thier back and get them to sit up to apply to the back, I start with the back first then apply downward finishing with legs. I personally find it easier to remove scrubs in the shower, I find that I can...

Chocolate Treatments - Just a Fad?

We use Matispa body treatments at the salon and we offer a Hot Foaming Cocoa Wrap but to be quite honest we don't do very many at all. It's a shame really because it's a really nice relaxing treatment. HTH xx:hug:xx

    reaction to wax

I've had the exact same problem, Id been having my upper lip waxed for a good couple of years and then out of the blue the last few times I came out with the reaction you described. Like some of the others have already said I put it down to me accidentily touching or licking my upper lip without...

    Persuasive selling (ripping people off!)

I went to the clothes show a few years ago and was practically forced to buy a multifunctional wonder product which was essentially just a cheap bronzer. They said it could be used as a eyeshadow, blusher, lip colour, nail varnish the lot!! They smeared some on my face and had bagged it up and...

    barbicide

I just want to mention that barbecide won't actually sterilise your tools, it will sanitise them. For proper sterlisation they need to go in an autoclave. HTH xx:hug:xx

    SPF in skin care?

I want to remind everyone that for SPF to be effective all day it needs to be reapplied, especially in the summer when the sun is stronger and if you know you are going to be outside for any length of time. I get sick to death of people saying "my moisturiser/foundation has SPF 15 so I'm...

    epilation

I do electrolysis at the salon I work at and I have probably got 6/7 regulars for it (can't quite remember off the top of my head!). I have got one new lady coming in tommorow aswell. They used to come weekly but most have now changed to fornightly as the treatment is progressing. We are the...

    Facial = clear skin!?

I have had a similar problem recently, I always cleanse tone moisturise every day and have done since i started in the industry but about 6-8 weeks ago I began getting spots on my jawline and my cheeks. I couldn't for the life of me think why as I hadn't changed anything in my skincare routine...

    client with rosacea

My mum suffers with rosacea, only mildly though. She is fine having all kinds of facials, including electrical but everybody is different. I would just say assess her skin and talk to her about what she uses at home before you try and decide what products to use. Obviously some harsh exfoliators...

    No GP note, No treatment

You actually make perfect sense despite your cold! I am inclined to think that this particular lady wasn't on medication for her BP as the "current medication" part of the form was left blank with a line through it. I just think if anything happened she would be the first to sue our ass! Better...

    No GP note, No treatment

I had to put this to you all to see if you agree, I had a client booked in for a cold slimming body treatment only to find she suffers with high blood pressure which is a contra-indication to the treament. So I politely and professionally explained the situation and asked her to seek advice from...
