    Sunflower nail dust extractor

I have one. It is big but I swing it over when I need it for filing and then back out of the way. I've used it with l & p as well as gel and IMO it does nothing for the smell of the vapors. S

    Extraction for Acrylic nails

I've had a Sunflower II for a few months now and it works very nicely to keep the gel dust out of my breathing zone. I posted a review and the installation saga in the Nail Report link my signature. The motor fell out of the unit after several months. Peter got back to me very quickly over...

    Gel toenails...

You might try one of the USA nail boards. I know the Beauty Tech has a lot of techs from Florida on it. If not, PM me and I can put the word out for you on there. S

    Accreditation? Or similar to Licensing?

It sounds just about the same as mine did when I completed them last year. S

Cracked nail repair - please help!

That's just what I do in that instance. S

    Clients Filing Their Own Nails

Definitely consider a custom blend. Use an opaque mix in zone 2 and VOILA! no more smile line peeking out as the nail grows. S

    Skin Tones Collection (CND)

You can always feather it down into zone three to keep it as natural looking as possible. I just moved one of my former NSS clients to it and it's made such a difference in perfecting the look of her nails and masking the previous damage. S

    Do you hold the bottle.....

Yup. That's me too. I have to hold it or it's virtually guaranteed that I'll knock it over at some point. S

if you could give any advice to a tech starting out what would it be????

There is no substitute for continuing education and practice. Take pictures of your 1st set and keep them forever. Pull them out when you're frustrated and marvel at how far you've come. S

Electric Filing.. Good thing or bad thing?

My time is the same with filing by hand or efile. Using an efile will not necessarily bring your time down. Improving my application with my brush made all the difference for me. S

    Which Brisa pink??

And a TEENY dot at that. We had some hilarious mixes during a custom blending class I took when some of the students used a heavy hand adding their red. A little goes a LONG way. S

What's the easiest way to apply form for sculpting on yourself?

Oh ho! I KNEW there had to be a trick to this. I never have that problem with my CND forms but my EZ flows were driving me bonkers with the popping open. S

    Hand file vs Drill

I trained with my efile last year. I use both it and my hand files depending on the particular application. I have rheumatoid arthritis and my efile helps tremendously when my hands are aching. Good training will make the world of difference when using an efile. The scariest experience is...

    polish wont dry

Holy cow, that must be frustrating! I used to have a tough time with my toes too. I purchased an IBD Jet 5000 lamp last year and I stick my toes in it on the heat/fan setting in between coats. Also, gel polish or clear gel + glitter works really well for me. You could even mix a few drops of...

e files which one to get?

Definitely do not think of it as an "easier" way to file. It's more like a different way to file. If you're experiencing problems such as lifting or an excess need to reduce thickness, look first to your application. If you're inefficient with a hand file, an efile won't necessarily be an...

Are these any better ? ...

Good for you for posting! Keep these pics to look back on. I have a set of pics that were from my very first set and they keep me going when I'm frustrated with a new technique. The above advice is spot on. It may be worth taking some time to practice on tips to get a feel for the size...

    Salon dilemma--need advice

That's an excellent point. It's also the reason that I never discuss anything while I've got the high emotion/low intelligence thing going on. I asked for the weekend to mull it over. I hadn't considered meeting the other tech first. I think I will ask to meet with the new partner and her...

It was a verbal agreement. The contract is simply for a month to month booth rental. S
