Why does Top Coat fade and loses its shine on toes after some time?

Anyone know what I can do about this? My skin on my toes is extremely dry. I mainly walk barefoot throughout the day and the red parts sometimes hurt a little. I found that it got worse with polish on the nails but I am not sure.

What color nail polish for men's toes is best and now in fashion? Seems that more and more men are asking for that. Any thoughts, ideas and recommendations welcome.
