    Salon software?

FWIW, I spoke to someone today who contacted Zenoti and were quoted $200 per staff per month!

    Salon software?

I found a press release about it here (not sure if I can post links) Toni&Guy partners with Zenoti for next-generation global salon and client solution Sounds like Zenoti have purchased SalonGenius. What that means in the medium to long term is hard to know, will they try and move everyone over...

    Salon software?

There are heaps around and to be honest most are pretty good, you should try a few and see which one you prefer. A couple of well known ones, Timely, You'reOnTime, Ovatu.

Self employed in salon and taking deposits

One thing you can do with our system is take a deposit from the client which will email them with a link to pay online.

    Booking app advice

One thing you might want to do before choosing any salon system is find out what access they give you to your data. We spend long days and nights trying to rescue people who have been cut off.

    iSalon holding onto my data

Hi. If you DM me I might be able to help. (edited by a moderator to point out that this poster is based in Australia and has links with another software company)

    Security breaches in a salon

When talking security breaches the first thing we think of is shoplifters or break ins. But an extremely common one that we don't like to think about is dishonest staff, lots of ways they can rip you off.

How do you deal with no shows?

Everything you say cries out of a computer system, there is a direct link between lots of no shows and not using a computer system. I am not sure why you find paper to be easier, but based on other people I have worked with it is more about familiarisation rather than actual ease of use. A...

    Slick software

Don't really know much about them, what made them your choice over so many alternatives?

    Client record cards

The safest is probably a cloud software system. Older desktop systems you need to manage the computer yourself, do your own backups etc. Cards are quite easily damaged or lost, not to mention they put a hard block on your business potential.

    Online booking systems

Shedul are basically a paid system now. It was inevitable, no business survives on air alone, but it could be better handled. I have heard horror stories.

    Schedul?

Email only support is standard for most cloud systems. Old style Windows systems often have a phone support option but you are paying for this, sometimes thousands a year. Is it worth it? Remember even so called free systems like Shedul need to make money somehow and phone support is one of the...

    Schedul?

Shedul are good, but beware they are pushing people hard towards their paid version which is turning a lot of people off.

    Treatwell

Everyone's experience will vary with how effective it is, but what I would say is that Treatwell would be less effort from you than trying to do social media advertising. It is probably what I would do first, but I would be interested in hearing other peoples opinions.

    Treatwell

Treatwell is basically a directory, sort of like the Yellow Pages for hair and beauty salons. So basically any time someone wants to find a business they could go there and search to find one, and if you are on them they might find you. They also rank well on Google, so if someone searches for...

How do you deal with no shows?

Like others have said, a combinations of SMS reminders and cancellation fees is the best way to handle it. You can never eliminate the problem but can reduce it.

    Client record keeping

As we do supply software that does this I may be a bit biased, but I think there are some definite advantages to electronic forms. The obvious one is that it is just more convenient, look a customers name in the system and you can at a click see all the forms they have filled out, which ones are...
