Help! Do you highlight white/grey hair to deposit colour if its resistant?

I'd say the client has 2 colours; prelightener and a tint. Ideally you would use 88.0 with 0.33 to add gold tone, rather than 8.3 as that regular shade dilutes the intensity of the white coverage of the intense coverage I didn't think anyone use prelightener with 40vol nowadays, especially in...

    Answering machine query

Morning! Im a great believer in answer phones. You don't interrupt your service, your caller knows who've they've rung and what their next step is. As you have Self employed stylists: do they book their own appointments or is there a central book? Do you have on-line booking system for them...

What dose everyone pay for rentting a chair?

Hi, I'm in SE London so very different from you but I need a CBD and a bd each day to make enough to pay my rent and over heads. I aim for alot more than that, but that's ok with me. I provide all of my stock, drinks, towels etc. Only thing I take from them is milk. How does that stack up...

    Recycle My Salon tube recycling?

Hi, I'm hoping there are some salons in the Bromley/ Croydon area that use Recycle My Salon. Capital h&b in Croydon used to have a bin but they had a fire and haven't replaced it ( I don't think the two are related) I have loads of used tubes that I'd like to recycle; can anybody help me out...

    Refund

I agree her. I'd also question whether she's telling the truth; ( subtly)- where has she had these colours done before, which products did they use, you'd love to find something that lasted longer and was vibrant. What was she using at home after those applications? You've done the work, it...

    Unhappy customer after balayage fail

This is quite a difficult one as you didn't ask her about her history, but did do a test strand. I would offer her a recolour (dark) and some treatments and discuss what her long term plans are with her hair and give her some advice. Be nice, helpful and professional. She has to take a little...

    Hair gowns

Gosh, if you find any do let us know. Maybe try an American supplier as they seem to be more accepting of larger people.

Can I claim loss of earnings??

Hello, That looks awful. What a palaver. I think that you need to speak to both your landlord and your insurance to see what is covered by whom. Fish out your insurance policy details and check so see if you're covered For loss of earnings. Good luck

    Looking for a beauty room

Hi, Sorry I've been off line for a bit Friend of mine in West Wickham has a room to rent. She's an osteopath and has several rooms. She herself has had to stand back from working as she has injured her back so is looking to make the space work. It's a lovely space on the High Street Let...

Room to rent in West Wickham, BR4

Good morning, My friend, an osteopath, has a room in rent in the centre of West Wickham, Bromley. It's for £600 a month, Exclusive use or could be shared between 2 therapists. There are already 3 osteopaths working, so a complementary therapy would work well- beauty, massage, reflexology etc...

    Opinions? Please be honest.

Hey Paige, Some great words here. I'll add my tuppence worth- Split your lunch time into 2 or more spaces throughout the day so you've a little breathing room and can pee. Bring your own lunch in so you've always got something; amazing what a KitKat boost can do at 4pm. Decide what you can...

    Messy stylist

Hello, In answer to your thought- you shouldn't waste half your day cleaning, but other stylists should? Being creative is wonderful, having a large clientele is the aim, but pee-ing off your colleagues ain't great as you work with them all the time. Tips to reduce the amount of cleaning...

    Client colour fade - help!

Hello, You're client has now porous sensitised hair, due to the bleach bath. So you need product that will sit in the hair not try to lift it. what was your your target shade? The extreme look of the 7/81? Or a cool mid blonde?. as you've prelightened first I would go over with a semi...

    Root toner help

Hello, be aware that Koleston is alkaline based so more likely to make a change to her hair. If you want to only add tone or depth I'd use Colour touch. I like illumina but it is still more alkaline. I'd probably use Colour touch 66/07, a CT plus colour as it has additional deposit ability.

    Don’t feel up to scratch-help

This may be a bit 'out there' but could you look for a job as a technician in a college or hair training facility? Then you could get paid, be able to attend some courses yourself (probably free or reduced cost) and ask for support or training from the teams there. Other option, as someone else...

    Visors PPE?

If you can find visors that you wear as spectacles, or the ones where the fro t liftsup (like a welders one,but light) they have the gap at the top to allow the fogging steam out. I got the lift up kind from salons direct for £12 which included 10 visor shields with a single frame. I found the...
