Here and still going now as nail shop owner are paying techs as contractors and still force them to wear theirs uniforms, come in on time and leave on time . Exactly like a employee but pay them as a contractor.

How did you get employees to come on time and leave on time even theres no customers? And tell the techs do proper ways and follow your rules.?

There's nail shop that pay w2s now bc the department of labor is breaking down for paying techs 1099 but treat them as employees. And I do know even though the owners pay them w2s they still take ( supplies fees for each customer) as in if you do a service they will take $5 off for supplies*...

Thinking opening a salon but want to go the right ways. And I do feel bad for the techs if I'm doing the way how all texas nail shops is doing.

This is what happening in texas ,that's why I want to make sure. I'm 100% sure all NSS nail shops do this to the techs (pays 1099 but make techs come and leave at owner's expense). I wonder no one file a complain to department of labor.

How do you get the technicians to come on time and leave when we close? Since they are contractors? Or you pay the technicians w2? Thanks

All vietnamese nail shop, we get pay around 60/40 (60% of whatever you make that week and 40% go to the owner) plus they charge you supply so you bring home around less than 55% of whatever you makes. And we are on 1099, and have to come on time and leave on time doesnt matter if we have...
