Advice needed - boxing day opening..

But we're not talking about a few quid taxi fare, we're talking about roughly £100 worth of treatments. That would mean she'd be paying £200 if you charge double, and I would rather have the £100 and know she's going to take the appointment than say it's £200 and have her cancel. It's a huge...

Advice needed - boxing day opening..

I don't understand why you would charge double the price? If it's your salon you're not paying for an extra day's room rental so you've just got the running costs of having the salon open (electricity etc) which you would normally have to pay as on any other working week you'd be there anyway...

    Dry cracked hands - help?

Hemp hand cream from the Body Shop is very good. I find a lot of the other creams really sting when I've got chapped hands, especially the calendula cream, but the hemp one is fine.

    wedding gifts

One of the best wedding presents I got was a keepsake box. Like these ones wedding keepsake box - Google Product Search I've got all our cards in it, and one of the invitations and an order of service, plus a few other bits and pieces. Or you could get her lots of little gifts, and wrap each...

    CIBTAC electrolysis training

I did the CIBTAC course about 12 years ago. From what I can remember it was very thorough, lasting a year. We got loads of practical time as it was such a long course. We were doing it alongside the Aestheticienne course, so some of the theory overlapped, but I do remember having to learn the...

When going from station to basin

As a customer also, there is no way I'd leave my handbag at the station. I just put it on my lap while I'm having my hair washed. Then I know it's safe and it's not in anyone's way.

please help i need couch covers!

Welcome to Salon Geek! The only one I could find was on Ebay, but it was a very BRIGHT purple and I don't think it was a particularly nice shade. If you can't find one, maybe you could find a local seamstress and have one made. It probably won't cost as much as you think.

London to Holyhead what are the roads like?

I've driven both ways Ruth has suggested (my parents live near Holyhead) and would highly recommend using the second route. For starters it's probably easier as you're on main roads more or less the whole way, so you're less likely to get lost. Plus, with the weather being what it is at the...

    sooo angry!!

I really do feel for you, it's horrible when you dread going into work. I think if you have the space to work from home, that you should do that, even if it's temporary until you can find another place to work from. If you're self-employed there's nothing to stop you from taking your...

    UV Topcoat

I absolutely agree, but as the OP is a non-professional she may not have realised that it is a professional product. I did go on a couple of websites looking for info about the topcoat in question and it does state on one of them that it's suitable for professional or home use. So many...

Please can you clear something up for me on Sodium Laureth Sulphate

SLS is basically a detergent and foaming agent. It's what makes your shampoo/shower gel/face wash/toothpaste so nice and frothy. It can dry out the skin but that would depend on not only your skin but also the other ingredients in the product. I have oily skin and I have yet to find a cleanser...

Good hydraulic couch with cradle for £500?

I've only every given treatments on a couch with a face hole, but I have received treatments on both types. Tbh, I didn't notice any difference from a comfort point of view. You would have to consider how much space you have in your treatment room. A couple of rooms I've worked in, if you were...

    Lower back pain

I think you've answered your own question there. It's very easy to get into bad habits with posture. You have to make a real conscious effort to make sure you're standing and sitting correctly. Also you may find it helpful to strengthen your abdominal core muscles - this will help to support...

    Waxing someone on warferin?

You might find this interesting Beauty Guild: Waxing / Warfarin You can always get her to check with her GP. Just be aware that if you do go ahead, warfarin is a blood thinner and so may cause her to bruise much more easily.
