    Nail systems?

I only used CND products. They make the best acrylic and gel polish systems. Polishes I used different brands.

    Nail tools disinfection

It's best that you use Barbicide. Barbicide is widely used and have good reputation within the industry. Milton is discontinued.

I am more than willing to have a respectful and objective discussion and debate on this subject. But as it is, this isn't a fair debate. I just want mods to be mediators and stop deleting post. Oh and haircuts, a researcher - Careful study of a given subject, field, or problem, undertaken to...

Honestly I'm actually refraining from posting a key piece of evidence that will end all of this. But I choose not to post it. I just want to see how some people handle debate and critique. As I said before, this is what I do. I research this stuff. Face prosecution? There is no law in the UK...

I fully realize the dangers of the nail profession, much more so than the general nail technician. I've said it before, I am a top tier researcher. But lets step back to the original point. Yes, it's not advisable to give a young child acrylics, but you're not hurting them from a standpoint of...

    Minimising monomer smell?

If the dust filters comes in first, it will block vapor and odors from reaching the charcoal bed, thus minimizing the absorption, thus negating the charcoal bed.

    Minimising monomer smell?

I don't think an all in one machine works. The reason being is that the bed of activtated charcoal has to be clear from dust in order to absorb monomer vapors and odors.

    Minimising monomer smell?

It's important that when you work from home, that you take the steps to make a home, a home and not a job site. When the smell is bad enough to where your kids are complaining, this will put stress onto them. They will not enjoy being at home, and they will eventually hold a grudge against you...

This is getting quite out of hand. Again, this is not a medical issue. Why not bring up nut allergies or nickel allergies while we are at it? Why not bring up car crash statistics? We already know that the ingredients in nail products can cause allergic reactions. Its nothing new. My original...

I just read that article. All it says is that they don't recommend it for children. That does NOT mean it's dangerous to the IMMUNE SYSTEM based on age. They could be concerned about children picking or peeling, which ends up damaging the nail. Yes, that is true. But that is why parents should...

Consent form for 12 year old

I will dive further into this and see if it is correct. So I just looked into this. I was correct. There is NO scientific data supporting the idea that getting acrylics, gels, and polish is anymore dangerous by being under 16 or 12, through harming the immune system. CND does not forbid use...

Consent form for 12 year old

My opinion was in no shape or form was aimed at "disrespecting" or "insulting" the moderation team. True, there was a time when I was very outspoken and my choice of words were disrespectful. But I am no longer that way. People do change and they learn. I am not a medical doctor, nor is anyone...

    UV/LED lamps

It's not as easy as "this is the best nail lamp to use". Which nail lamp you use, depends on many other factors. If these factors are not used together, recommending you a single nail lamp does not matter. Here's the kicker, most lamps will harden the gel, but there's a lot more to it than...

You are misusing your moderating powers. You don't know anything about the ingredients used in nail products nor can you establish a credible link to the immune systems of 16yr olds, in which these ingredients will do damage. This isn't medicine where you are ingesting ingredients. If you are...

    Too old to train

No, you are not too old. In my experience, I found that people are quick learners when it comes to nails. Acrylics takes a few months to become good at.

    Gel advice

If you want a gel as hard as acrylics, why not just use acrylics? It's pretty much the same thing, except for the consistency. Why beat yourself up looking for a gel when you can just stick to acrylic? Btw, I highly recommend CND acrylic and monomer.

    Bruised toe advice wanted

I don't mean this as a "I told you so" comment, but this is why techs are forewarned and to work ONLY on healthy nails and clients. Because they are older, the structure of the skin is weaker - therefore it is a possibility that force from the nippers transfer to the matrix area. That said...

    Social Media

I agree with Valerie. Social media is associated with the younger crowd, who don't really have the funds to afford even a basic gel manicure. Anybody can post anything on SM today. It dilutes the message one sends. Its also the same with print ads. But usually when CND does advertising, its...

I hate my CND lamp, am I the only one?

I don't recommend other brands. Also you should try the new CND lamp.

    Dust extractor recommendations

Good dust extractors are expensive and they are bulkier. My recommendation would be, tell your friend and family to get their nails done at your salon. Work stuff should be done at work. You don't want all those nail product residues to get all over your home.
