Just came back to thank you for your suggestion. Worked out better than I thought. Got some pretty and healthy nails 👍👍

Can't blow dry my own hair

Products that don’t break the bank but are good to use are Verb, Matrix, and Paul Mitchell. Ulta always has random deals to buy 2 get 1 free etc too. But stay away from drug stores. They’re no good one bit. I have had my Dyson for YEARS and use it on clients too, so it lasts. Just don’t drop it...

    SOS, help my nails!

Please don’t freak out!! Also you’re not a psycho. We all deal with the pandemic differently and I was also so focused on my nails. It’s boredom and the unknown that gives you things to think about and anxiety. I’m a hairdresser but had worse happen to my nails upon the first shut down. I filed...

Can't blow dry my own hair

I would love to help. A lot of this can come down to products. I know the Dyson hairdryer is expensive but it dries hair as quick as day. It’s a great investment. Some things are worth the investment. I have one at my station and tbh it cuts down on a lot of drying time so I can focus on...

    Suggestions?

Hi, everyone. It’s been awhile since I asked for some suggestions, and I had a question I feel pros can help guide me with. It must be where I live in NJ because there’s not many options. I work now so it’s unrealistic to drive 30-40 mins one way just to get my nails done. I just don’t have...

    Cuticle work

I’m a hair stylist but want to add that Instagram is awful to go to for images!!! I used to admire a stylist who did my balayage in my 20s. My hair color is on his portfolio and I was young and dreamed to get to his skill one day. I finally found the original he took with my phone. 2 different...

    Does wavy look need layers?

Long layers can help but, ultimately, I’d just explain what you explained here to us. Tell the stylist you want more bounce in your hair and got some reason your hair isn’t holding the style anymore. You can bring pics of how you want it to look too, to help. Pros are trained to cut it in a way...

    Split ends after a cut?

Try not to use heat every day. That’s a big cause.

    Split ends after a cut?

Good response. Also to leminy… if you were not in lockdown note it’s summer and if you’re out and about. Pools, sun, the works. You’ll get a few. It’s a damaging time of year. Don’t look for them!! Just enjoy your haircut. Trust your stylist. 5-6 split ends I wish I had. I just got a cut and...

    Split ends after a cut?

I would have to see your hair but I am positive a few split ends are totally normal.

    Split ends after a cut?

Tbh it depends on the condition of your hair and how much you wanted cut. I am a big nit picker too but a few split ends won’t ruin your style at all. You say about 5? Haha. I promise you it’ll be ok 😊

A pro asking a pro for an opinion

No. I don't use tan spray. I am tanned from the sun though and ok, yea that makes sense. I feel olive skin is the hardest to find a match to. Always have trouble figuring it out. :P Thank you :-)

A pro asking a pro for an opinion

Awww thank you. That's humbling. <3 It's been nice being able to get back to work/salons. <3 Not that anyone asked but I am just digging my nails. LOL Finally found a good place (as a hairdresser they stay on for 3 full weeks- no lifts)

    Hair help!

Yay!!! Yes, you can dispute debit too. You go, girl. You will win this one cause they are ghosting you. :-)

    Hair help!

Did you charge this service on your credit card? If so,dispute it. Then, use the money for a color correction. You will easily win the dispute as the salon will not fix for you. Make sure to go to someone with good reviews next time. I can help. Yelp is a good place to look 😊😊

A pro asking a pro for an opinion

I am so good at matching colors with skin tone, finding the perfect blend for someone in my chair... BUT ME... I struggle. LOL I recently went ashier. I kinda like it. I think I lean to neutral olive... which confuses people. Some say I am warm and want to do a GOLD. Others, cool and ASHY...

    Balayage technique, customer "fix"

Yes the pic was of shadow root so I started high around face and layers underneath lower and lowest on lower layer. But I’ll make the adjustment. It’s no issue. I just want her happy but am a bit confused.

    Balayage technique, customer "fix"

I have a customer coming in tomorrow for an adjustment. I balayage her hair. She wants a blonde that'll grow out good with her brown. I figured I would section it into 3 parts, her third part being darker on top with lowlights... the rest of the blonde is closer to her root (the 2 upper sections...
