    Horrible acrylic brushes

If contamination gets in the ferrule of your brush it will sit there. I use a box to store mine , always point down so stored liquid (monomer) doesn’t travel up in storage.

    Horrible acrylic brushes

All natural hair brushes should only be cleaned in fresh monomer, never in acetone. New brushes need to be trained ( think of it like a wand in Harry Potter) if you use it flat , then train it flat and with a point train it. Brushes are very personal. But getting back , always clean in fresh...

    CND Retention+/Radical Solar

Yes just exactly the same as you would with R+ primer is optional. good luck 🤞

Is it OK to offer just gel polish and not normal polish?

If you only want to offer hybrid then do just that. One thing I’ll say though is if you do a perfect polish application it won’t budge. It’s all About prep superb products and perfect application. Using a correct base coat 2 coats of polish and a beautiful top coat will ensure that won’t budge...

    CND Retention+/Radical Solar

oh and forgot to add no need to use both systems if your using R+ with great prep and she is getting breakage maybe try switching to radical, obviously looking at length and lifestyle also as this will contribute to breakage regardless of which system you use.

    CND Retention+/Radical Solar

Hi there the difference is all in the chemistry 😊 both if I remember are cross linking monomers but radical is reinforced whereas R+ is keratin bonding. Both have superb adhesion however I found occasionally if a client was hard on there enhancements then radical would suit better. Both products...

Help! Bad allergy & don't want to stop being a nail tech

Just to note nail enhancement products don’t produce fumes they produce vapour which is completely different, just think it’s important people understand the chemistry 👍

Help! Bad allergy & don't want to stop being a nail tech

I’m in no way saying this is the case with your wife but with most “reactions “ they are the body’s way of saying it doesn’t agree with something, if however continued over exposure to said allergens happens then this reaction will turn into an “allergy” which is pretty hard to eliminate with...

    Critique Critique gel nails

As above users have already said you can’t really see properly, you need to follow the nail shape and leave a tiny margin around the sidewalls and eponychium. Maybe talk us through your application starting at prep might help us give you some more positive feedback and clearer pictures showing...

    Fake CND Shellac?

Have a reply in mind, say something like, if you wouldn’t mind could I order them as I’d like to have a little browse at what colours they have in stock. maybe someone can rectify but I’m pretty sure you have to have done a conversion in CND to purchase their L&P gels etc but don’t know about...

    Fake CND Shellac?

I would just casually mention one day whilst you are together “ oh by the way can I order a couple of bottles of top coat on your account as I’ve tried and you have to have an account which I don’t have as of yet” see what she says. I’d just be honest and saying the above might give you an...

Help, CND Creative Play coming off after 3 days

When you say little bumps, it sounds to me the product is under cured, however if it is only a couple of clients out of many then maybe not. Are they all having the same colour? Are they the exact same fingers on each client ? Can you be sure this is exactly what’s happening (maybe ask them to...

Acrylic, clear works but pink lifts. Help!

Hi there what you might be experiencing is a poor mix ratio when using opaque powders, coloured powders can be harder to work with as you need to work a little bit faster and maybe adjust your ratio slightly. Ensure your using correct bead size maybe use a smaller pick up and see if this works...

First sets, how long does it or did it take you?

As above have all said practice practice practice. It takes time and skill all of which isn’t learnt in a few months. My bit of advice would be to get your technique spot on with the basics first then move onto designs and glitters etc. Have you trained in tip and overlay? Some people find this...

Help! Bad allergy & don't want to stop being a nail tech

Over exposure is usually the reason for reactions which lead to allergies. As above have said be super meticulous how you work and storage of waste etc. Once you develop an allergy it’s usually really far gone from a reaction and needs to be addressed as it won’t go away. Ensure no products...

    Cuticles and nail prep

As above poster advised, lifting is almost always down to poor prep and also poor mix ratio of L&p. When prepping you need to ensure there is no cuticle on the nail plate as this will act as a barrier for the product to bond to the natural nail plate. It sounds like she’s picking at her live...
