    10vol vs 20

Thanks. That makes sense. I’m just trying a few different options for root touch ups for a few of my short haired, over 50% white, clients. I thought that maybe I would compare using 10 volume with KP vs Colour Touch Plus for roots, in between the full 20 volume KP service which I offer. In the...

    10vol vs 20

Color theory question. I was wondering if KP 6/1 would turn out darker if using 10 vol VS when I use 20 vol? How much darker should I expect the colour to be when using 10 volume? The client is a natural level 6. This info will help me adjust the formula in advance. Thanks

KP and 10 vol and whites

I’m curious what kind of grey coverage you can expect when using 10 volume with KP? Do you still get 100% coverage? Specifically im talking about a fashion shade with all /2 green ash and no neutral in a 10 vol formula.

Shade difference between CTP vs KP

I was wondering if Colour Touch Plus and KP shades line up pretty evenly or if there is a shade difference? For example, is a level 6 in CT also a level 6 in CTP? I thought maybe demi permanent would be a little darker so I would need to adjust half a shade lighter to match a KP hair color...

    Very gray client’s roots

So are you saying it would be OK to use to CT Plus for roots in between KP applications? Im also wondering what you think of just using KP with 10 volume for roots, to be a bit gentler for in between visits? She has thin hair so I’m trying to be gentle to avoid it going too dark. I usually go a...

    Very gray client’s roots

Thanks for the reply. The KP does a much better job at covering every white hair on her. The CT is just to tide her over. The whites show through quite a bit faster with the CT but it’s good enough to “get her through” and a vast improvement from obvious grey roots. I guess it blends it nicely...

    Very gray client’s roots

Hello, I have a level 6 client with 60% grey who wants to come in every 2 weeks for her roots. I wanted to inch her towards highlights but she isn’t interested. For permanent I use KP 6/2 mixed with 6/0 on her and get a nice ashy result. in between monthly visits, I’ve been using doing her...

    7/89 to 6/89

I am having trouble with a client who is very prone to warmth and only likes ashy dark blonde hair. I know CT 6/89 doesn’t exist but I’d like to create it. The 9 subtone doesn’t matter, I mostly need 6/8. Should I simply add a tiny bit of CT 2/8 to the 7/89? Or is it a better practice to...

How can I make 6/8 in KP

Thank you. How similar will it look to the illumina?

How can I make 6/8 in KP

Does anyone know how to make Illumina 5/81+7/81 using Kolesten Perfect? Im confused if it would be better to add the 0/88 special to 6/0 or 6/1?? Or some of each? If I use 6/0 with 0/88 is the result going to be dark and ashy, fading fast to something warm and opaque?

    Color Touch hair condition

Hi Ronray, I followed your advice and it turned out perfectly. The only little thing I was wondering is, for the ends, I did 4% (level 7) and it turned out fine. (Since I use 4% on the roots for gray). But should I really have used 1.9% on the ends ideally? My only concern is that the 1.9%...

    Color Touch hair condition

Thank you, this was extremely helpful. Regarding your last paragraph, for when I eventually need to color the ends, would I mist the ends with a little water before doing that?

    Color Touch hair condition

I’ve noticed in one of my short hair level 6 clients that her hair is in worse condition with Color Touch than it was using KP with 20 vol. With KP since the mixture is thicker it was easier to keep on the roots only and then I emulsified at the end to color balance. With CT, since the mixture...

    Colouring over highlights

Thanks! Just for my own personal knowledge, why isn’t it necessary to pre pig? Is it because the warmth in the /71 or /0 is enough to color over subtle highlights, kind of as if they were whites? I assume if I did just 100% ash like 7/89 they would turn out not very nice right? Second...

    Colouring over highlights

A client has decided she doesn’t want her level 8 highlights anymore for her next appointment. She wants them blended in. The weren’t subtle enough for her. She has short hair. natural color is 6 with 30% gray. I want to stick with color touch. She wants to be a level 6.5 all over, not warm...

Scalp bleach to balayage + Wella Color Touch Plus

What is the rule for when you have to fill when going darker? How many shades of depth darker do you need to go in order to have to fill first? Is it 3?

Adding a neutral to Color Touch

I’m still fairly new to Wella. Just a couple general questions: If you are colouring using Color Touch on virgin hair, would you use less ashy colours than you would with Kolesten Perfect? Since KP is used with higher developers that lift more, so more ash would be required to neutralize the...

    Wella Color Touch question

Thank you. What is the difference between 7/89 and 7/86? In some photos I saw online the /86 appeared darker. In the wella swatch it looks darker too. Is there anything to this? Also curious if /89 is a little ashier since 9 has blue and violet?

    Color Touch ashy options

I’m trying to clarify in my head when to use /68 vs /88. is It fair to say that /68 is more to neutralize lighter, yellow-orange tones, while /88 is more for darker, brassy orange tones? I see a lack of /2 tones in the color touch range. Is there an effective way to tone down red tones in...
