    10vol vs 20

Color theory question. I was wondering if KP 6/1 would turn out darker if using 10 vol VS when I use 20 vol? How much darker should I expect the colour to be when using 10 volume? The client is a natural level 6. This info will help me adjust the formula in advance. Thanks

KP and 10 vol and whites

I’m curious what kind of grey coverage you can expect when using 10 volume with KP? Do you still get 100% coverage? Specifically im talking about a fashion shade with all /2 green ash and no neutral in a 10 vol formula.

Shade difference between CTP vs KP

I was wondering if Colour Touch Plus and KP shades line up pretty evenly or if there is a shade difference? For example, is a level 6 in CT also a level 6 in CTP? I thought maybe demi permanent would be a little darker so I would need to adjust half a shade lighter to match a KP hair color...

    Very gray client’s roots

Hello, I have a level 6 client with 60% grey who wants to come in every 2 weeks for her roots. I wanted to inch her towards highlights but she isn’t interested. For permanent I use KP 6/2 mixed with 6/0 on her and get a nice ashy result. in between monthly visits, I’ve been using doing her...

    7/89 to 6/89

I am having trouble with a client who is very prone to warmth and only likes ashy dark blonde hair. I know CT 6/89 doesn’t exist but I’d like to create it. The 9 subtone doesn’t matter, I mostly need 6/8. Should I simply add a tiny bit of CT 2/8 to the 7/89? Or is it a better practice to...

How can I make 6/8 in KP

Does anyone know how to make Illumina 5/81+7/81 using Kolesten Perfect? Im confused if it would be better to add the 0/88 special to 6/0 or 6/1?? Or some of each? If I use 6/0 with 0/88 is the result going to be dark and ashy, fading fast to something warm and opaque?

    Color Touch hair condition

I’ve noticed in one of my short hair level 6 clients that her hair is in worse condition with Color Touch than it was using KP with 20 vol. With KP since the mixture is thicker it was easier to keep on the roots only and then I emulsified at the end to color balance. With CT, since the mixture...

    Colouring over highlights

A client has decided she doesn’t want her level 8 highlights anymore for her next appointment. She wants them blended in. The weren’t subtle enough for her. She has short hair. natural color is 6 with 30% gray. I want to stick with color touch. She wants to be a level 6.5 all over, not warm...

Scalp bleach to balayage + Wella Color Touch Plus

What is the rule for when you have to fill when going darker? How many shades of depth darker do you need to go in order to have to fill first? Is it 3?

Adding a neutral to Color Touch

I’m still fairly new to Wella. Just a couple general questions: If you are colouring using Color Touch on virgin hair, would you use less ashy colours than you would with Kolesten Perfect? Since KP is used with higher developers that lift more, so more ash would be required to neutralize the...

    Wella Color Touch question

When using color touch on someone with 30% gray, should I use the 1.9 or the 4 developer? Will I still get SOME coverage with the 1.9 at least? Also, can I still get at least 15 washes out of CT no matter which developer I choose? I’m curious in particular how long the 1.9 allows the color to...

    Color Touch as a toner

The client has a level 6 base which has been colored with KP level 6/2 to cover the whites. They now want highlights. If I’m toning light blonde bleached highlights on them with a color touch 10/6 and a 9/16 mixture, and the 1.9% developer, will this demi-permanent “toner” affect the base around...

    Blondor permanent liquid toner question

I find it interesting that this product is to be mixed with 20 vol OR 6 vol developer. There is obviously a huge difference between those, 20 vol being way stronger and potentially harsher on hair that has presumably just been bleached, so I wouldn’t 6 vol be a better choice? Can someone...

    Best toners for highlights (Wella)

What are the best toners? I’m curious if you guys prefer toning highlights with 1) wella color charm 2) color touch, or 3) blondor permanent liquid toners? Any pros and cons of each? Which are most popular for highlights in particular?

Blondor bleach extra cool vs Blondor bleach

I’ll be doing highlights on a male client in his 20s and he wants them light blonde and ashy. He is a level 6 and I will he doing subtle highlights for a beachy summer look. His hair has been previously colored but he is a natural 6 and his current color is about a 6. I want to prelighten to a...

    Color Touch ashy options

I’m looking to tone brassy dark blond hair from a slightly warm level 7 to an ashy 6. Any color touch suggestions? I’m new to the colour touch range and it seems that there are not a lot of options that would turn out ashy. I was hoping for something with /2 or /8 to mix that would get to a...

    Getting rid of warmth

What would you suggest to tone down the brassiness in this clients hair? The client is a friend who did their own highlights and now they find them too brassy. The client desires a much ashier look, neutralizing all warm tones. They want to keep it in the level 7 or level 6 range, not go too...

    10 vol KP

I have always colored gray with 20 vol as per the Kolesten Perfect instructions. For a male client, I want to keep it very natural and avoid it looking brassy (he washes his hair often), and NOT too densely colored. For a male client with thin hair texture, would 10 volume work to cover gray? He...

Ice cream dust free bleaching powder-blue

Hi all. I received a sample of a product called “Ice cream dust free beaching powder-blue”. It says to mix 1 part powder with 2 parts of 10, 20, or 30 vol developer, for maximum 35 min. Does anyone have experience with this powder? I was told it’s very strong. I just want some subtle blonde...

    Wella KP 7/2 vs 7/8

Hi guys. My friend is a natural sort of ashy level 6 with 50% gray. I have been coloring her with 7/2 with good results. However, I’m just curious how the result might be different if we went with 7/8 instead? (So switching from the green tone to a blue tone). Sorry if it’s a dumb question but...
