    What volume developer to darken hair?

    So, my hair has been dyed to a level 8/9 copper and I want to go back to level 7 copper with permanent color. Should I use a 10volume developer, or a 20 volume, or mix both to make 15 volume? What option would give me the least fading possible and maximum color deposit? Thanks for the help
