    Competition how to???

Try sculpting the nails one by one. White with a medium setting liquid, pink with a fast setting liquid. Then go on to the next finger and put your form on; once you've done that, the previous nail should be ready for pinching. Pinch, put on a clamp to hold the c-curve shape, and get back to the...

    Who's done their Christmas nails?

Mine are rather short, almond shaped, with red free edges, white glittered stripes around smile lines and clear rhinestones on the very tips. I'm sorry I haven't got a pic. They (are supposed to:)) look like Santa's hats!

1st ever attempt at competition style nails... Help?

Hi, I agree with Angel Fingers and Nailzoo about your c- curves, flat looking thumb and that sideline of the middle finger you also noticed yourself. I'd like to add that for a more dramatic comp style look you need to work your smilelines a lot deeper (more difficult techniques also affect...

    Which Red Polish for Competition???

China Glaze High Roller gives a nice shine. You probably won't be allowed to use a top coat. In case the polish is provided by the competition organisers you aren't allowed to use your own but, you can still use your own brush:idea:. Thoroughly clean the brush from an old polish bottle of the...

How long did your first full set take?

My first full set of pink and whites (gel) took me 5 hours 8 minutes!! God bless my dear friend who had the patience to sit there as my guinea pig!

    Retailing enamel

This is exactly what works for me too! Retailing polihes brings me some profit and costs me nothing in terms of time =extra income. By far I haven't met a single person who would like to wear the same colour all the time; they come back anyway to have their nails done and, about every second...

    Entity gel

Do you remove the forms after curing the clear, before applying the white? How long do you cure the white for? I mean before you pinch it? What kind of clamps do you use? And in the end, does the clear show on the hairline?

    Entity gel

How exactly do you pinch with Entity gel? Do you use clear forms? Or do you sculpt with clear first, pinch it and then apply white? Or something else?

    Problems with Brisa

Also check your apex placement. If the enhancement is unbalanced it may result in both lifting and cracking :)

Konad nail stamp colours are dull

The gold and silver just don't have much colour pigment in them; they seem to show only on a dark base. I've used them over black polished nails but have never thought about double stamping the same image. I think femmefan's idea is absolutely ingenious, I'll give it a go as soon as I can!

    Konad Stamp kits

Have you tried to do a search on this topic? There have been loads of threads about stamping nail art, this one quite recently, for example http://www.salongeek.com/nail-geek/77442-im-thinking-buying-konad-stamper-kit-what-your-views.html

    CND files

I agree with 'chelle, it's pretty much down to personal preference. I mainly use Magnetic files, but for blending tips and removing gel enhancements there's no better tool than the CND Outblack (120/240 padded file)!:)

Why I'm Hesitant to Try Brisa...

Brisa is definitely worth a go. You might still prefer Akzentz but you only know after you've tried Brisa:)

    Stiletto, getting it right

It's not really a stiletto if it's not sculpted. You need to be able to pinch very heavily to make the nail strong; remember, a stiletto is supposed to be looooong. If you try to shape just by filing, the end result doesn't only look lame but it's also nowhere near strong enough:) That Young...

    Ezflow gel overlay.. with colours

I wonder why you've scored so low:confused:. Those nails are good! Well there are only three members rated your work so far, of whom I was the third one elevating your average scores a bit by giving you fours all round.:) With popits you can't really go wrong, the shape from every angle just...
