How deep does IBX penetrate into nail?

Jim N: IBX penetrates the upper layers of the nail plate. If the client is picking of her Shellac, it would take some IBX with it. I would recommend doing IBX on this client before each gel polish application (and tell her to stop picking!)

My name is Jim Nordstrom. I am a partner with the Sweets at Sweet Squared, co-founder of famous Names (maker of IBX) and co-founder of Creative Nail Design (now CND and CEO there for 19 years). There have been a lot of points introduced in this string that I would like to address. When we...

    Solar Oil vs Dadi Oil?

In 1980, when we introduced SO, our key product was called SolarNail Liquid and Powder...so the name was an offshoot of it. However, the "sun did come into play in the early years... the primary source for jojoba oil,was Mexico...the color was inconsistant from batch to batch...sometimes it...

    Solar Oil vs Dadi Oil?

Jim N: To honest, they are both great. I formulated them both. Dadi' Oil has a more up to date formula and uses NATURAL Vit E, and Solaroil does not. You cant go wrong with either.

I thought IBX was a professional only product!

JN: The situation with S2 is quite different. I am a partner in S2 and I can tell you that we are spending a ton of time and resource to combat the Shellac problem, but it is a global and complicated problem with no easy answers. But rest assured, we are totally working on it (including myself).

    IBX Restore & Repair?

Jim N: Totally correct (as usual ). The stronger the bulb, the further away you need to hold the hands. GENTLE heat is all that is needed.

    IBX Restore & Repair?

Jim N: It's a good question. The answer is it addresses the new nail growth and restores any IBX removed from the surface during the removal process. By the way, it is not dehydration from removal that is any kind of problem...it is the softening of the nail from the remover (usually acetone)...

    IBX Restore & Repair?

Jim N: Yes, you may use UV...cure for the amount of time suggested for the gel polish color coat. Do not buff...we have had many, many nail pro's using IBX under gel polishes without buffing and they are not seeing any adverse results but nails are even better without the buffing.

    IBX Restore & Repair?

Jim N: Sorry for that...we just could not test all of the UV lights out there, so were being safe in suggesting the LED. Since then we have updated the application instructions to incorporate UV also. For the most updated instructions, go to www.ibxnails.com

    IBX Restore & Repair?

Jim N: Not necessarily, it's more to do with the overall condition of the nail. If they are thin, peeling, splitting, once per week is fine. As the nails improve then everyother week to every three weeks is what is needed.
  16. C

    IBX Restore & Repair?

Jim N: The short answer is yes, it's okay as long as you are not doing it more than once per week. At some point (and I would think you are getting close) you should go to everyother to every third week with IBX. It's not just the Repair, but the system can cause brittleness if used more than...

    IBX Restore & Repair?

Jim N: Agree with Mum, it sounds like the Smoothing Gel is increasing the removal fatigue. I think IBX in seven days is fine.

    IBX Restore & Repair?

Jim N: Be careful about how much heat, that is a lot of watts. The key is how far away you hold the hands.
