    Akzentz Options looking dull

What are you using as your top coat? Is it Base N Gloss or the Clear Options? Make sure you don't overcure either of these - no more than two minutes - or they will appear dull. When you said you reset your timer after 1:30 this jumped out at me and I thought you might be curing it for a...

    Disaster!!

Did you test out the new system on yourself before you tried it with a client? If so how was the application and did you notice anything that needed to be tweaked? You also mentioned you did not use a primer, sometimes even primerless systems need primer with clients who are prone to...

    Disaster!!

Only L&P. Gel is already the correct consistency so there are no ratio problems when applying it. Curing/lamp problems are a whole other ballgame however. But as far as too wet/too dry, it does not apply to gel. Laura

    Tips cracking

Charlotte I would agree with all the advice you've been given so far. Here are a couple of ideas I have to solve the problem. 1. You are going to use OPI tips from now on, so see if that makes the difference. 2. The nails that are breaking (two thumbs, two pointers and one middle if I...

how do you get the proper c curve with gels

You can also turn the lamp and the hand upside down to cure! This creates a c-curve. It's a little trickier to accomplish but it works. You can freeze cure it upside down if you like, then turn the lamp right-side-up to finish curing. It's fiddly but it might be worth a try. HTH Laura

    Retention+ vs. Radical

I think it depends hun, are your clients more prone to lifting or breakage? If you've been using Radical up to now and having great results, why change? If you now have both monomers maybe you can continue using Radical on your usual clients and then when you see someone with lifting try the...

    custom blending- share your advice

I like to apply the test mixes to clear nail tips. That way you have a bunch of pre-made tips ready for clients and if you aren't sure if they are a warm or a cool, you can just lay one on top of their nail. Even if you end up tweaking it a bit at least the client can somewhat see beforehand...

    Gel problems HELP

I did a Google search and managed to find a site for Sergio Nail and I translated it. They almost sound like they are soakable gels but I can't find any reference to that on this site. I am having a hard time posting the link to that site, I've had to edit my post twice as the URL doesn't...

Is my monomer making my nails blue?

That's terrific.....most people have a hard time using Flawless Pink on it's own so if you found it OK you are well ahead of the game ! Laura

    Nails from Italy

Funny, I can see them when I click on the email update link but not if I go to the thread itself! Anyway....I would have to agree with some of the other posters. They are not my cup of tea....but who knows what your clients like, or what is popular in Italy. It is all very subjective. So...

Had Acrylics removed and nails look rough and ugly

Hi there, I'm sorry you had to experience that. I think perhaps they didn't know you might be willing to pay for another treatment besides the soak-off. You mentioned soak-off and manicure or soak-off and overlay, but I don't get the sense they understood that might be an option (ie you would...

Nail fell off whilst I was asleep!

Well you look like a very nice twit :) I believe you! I am just astounded that it actually does happen. Maybe they just were lifting too much and finally came off. Must have gotten caught up in the sheets or something ?? Ok, I'll stop now..... eek: Laura x

Welcome to the site hun! I no fairy godmother....but it doesn't hurt to have big dreams :) I like your ideas and I think they have potential. Do you want to do all of this yourself? Do you know any tattoo artists right now who could mentor you? I have no idea how one learns that...
