    Moyou stamping plates

I found I was scraping the polish off the plate too hard. Once I relaxed - I found it lifts off perfectly every time. Be gentle with the scraping, remember the angle and be quick. I also would try Konad polish. x

    Help-my CND lamp is poorly

My lamp has always done this. If it's been cold I put it on for 10 seconds and it makes that noise, then put it on for 10 seconds again and it's fine. It's done this for about 2 years! Apart from that it works perfectly fine.

    CND or NSI?

I trained in CND originally, but converted to NSI as I prefer to work with it. I can't fault their products at all ad their customer service is on a par with CND. Only downside is I don't like their polish pro, so trained with Harmony and use Gelish as my gel polish to work either alongside the...

Anyone sell anything homemade alongside nails?

I have a display of handmade cards, and locally made body scrub, lip balm etc. The lady who makes them gives all profit to charity - I don't take any money obviously!

    Vinylux vs All that Jazz?

I use All that Jazz, and I retail the colours that match Gelish. I think it lasts well, 7 days and applies beautifully. x

    Gelish hard gel, please help

My local Gelish educator runs a course in the hard gel "GHG Gelish Hard Gel Beginners". If you go to your local educator they should sort you out xx

    Gelish hard gel, please help

I use Harmony hard gels - on myself, and I get on fine with them. You need to make sure you use all the correct products (It has it's own bond etc). You should be able to find a Gelish course near you. x

Finding a good nail course in Surrey

Angie of The Nail Academy in Frimley is very good for training in gel and acrylic, as is Michelle at The Nail Room in Camberley for training in Gelish if you're this side of Surrey xx

Who offers IBX and how long before nails improve?

Silly question - I've got a hard gel client asking about it.... can it be used under a hard gel system? I was thinking it might be a bit pointless.

Recommendations for a uv gel lamp

The NSI one is perfectly good, or the CND one if you can get one. x

    NSI users

I use NSI and have for about 4 years. I originally trained in 2 other systems but found this one the best for me. I use the Balance gel system and can't fault it at all. x

    NSI-who uses it?

I'm a brush on white kind of gal but I do prefer the colour of the builder white :p

Do you charge the client extra to get a 2 week gel polish over acrylic nails

I don't charge more than a couple of quid extra for Gelish ontop of gel nails.

    Gelish LED Lamps?

I've got the 18g and it works fine on all fingers x

How different is Shellac & Gelish?

It's a tough call, but only you can decide on which products to use. I started off with Shellac as I have a CND lamp for use with Brisa hard gel (Which you also HAVE to use for Shellac). I personally didn't get on with Shellac but I had no real complaints from my clients. I then bought Gelish...

    Shellac, Gelish or Gelax?

I've used both but am not replenishing stock of Shellac as and when colours run out. Personally I find the application of the actual Gelish easier, I find Shellac a bit too thick. I've recently had training in a new way to apply the Gelish foundation which makes removal time comparable to shellac.

Supposed 'fully qualified nail tech' saturation

I'm always amazed at clients who come to me saying "so and so used to scuff my cuticle, used to file my naked nail, never did cuticle work" etc. In fact these clients are so pleased with my work that they book up for the next 3 months and I get a lovely tip. They appreciate their nails being...

    Fungal infection?

Sorry, I may have worded that wrong, I'm not saying the GP is wrong - I'm just wondering what has happened to the nail. All he told her was that it's not an infection - no other explanation, but I was worried it might be some other kind of contra-indication anyway.

    Fungal infection?

Can I just ask - on the second picture the middle toe-nail looks a bit thick - is that a fungal infection too? My sister has one like that, been like it for years. It's very thick in height and a bit yellow and flaky. It's never spread. Her GP says it's not an infection but I wasn't so sure so...

    Gelish 18g LED Lamp

I had a conversation with one of the NH team at Olympia and she said to place a really thin stripe of gelish base coat on each nail - then work it over the rest of the nail with a gel brush.... it really has to be that thin. Cure for 5 seconds. The base coat is sooooo thin that you don't need to...
