    If you a still scared you could start a smaller venture such as renting a room, going mobile or becoming home-based. Many salon owners aren't even qualified in beauty but still do well because they are very business minded, hire good staff etc. so there is no reason why you can't succeed...

    As the title says, apart from the hair and beauty industry do you own businesses in any other sectors/consider yourselves entrepreneurs and dabble in different things? Would be interesting to find out :)

    After being mobile would you rent a room or a whole salon?

    I would personally go for the whole salon and rent chairs to cover the cost of bills and the very least. I would put a good bit of money aside for advertising in particular and promote your treatments to the hair clients.

    I usually wax from either side of the client and tweeze from behind but always check all angles and continuously brush them to ensure a good shape.

    I disagree with this comment, it is far too general. I started making profit after 2 months whilst reinvesting in new services and products and have been busy from day dot. What is this based on? To the OP it's a very competitive market, do your research, find niches and implement plans...

    I think it depends on the person,experience in other things and training, I found it really easy to start with although it took me a while to get down to 1 hour per set. I know loads of therapists who have trained and given up as they didn't have the patience for it.

    Have you done your mums lashes many times before? Perhaps they were too heavy for her or you used too much glue. Has she started any new medications or been overly stressed?

    It looks like an allergic reaction due to the inflammation, you would be better going to your GP for a diagnosis. Have you started any new medications or been out in the sun?

    Nails would be my bread and butter treatment closely followed by lashes, brows and tans.
