I did something similar using Shellac and mica mineral powder smoothed into 2nd cured colour coat, then Shellac top coat.

I have a larger collection of Shellac and a few Gelish, majority of my clients prefer Shellac but I have a few with psoriasis/thyroid problems who seem to get longer lasting results from Gelish. I like the application of both too.
