    Dashing Diva NailGuards?

Ahhh, BB, that's what I was afraid of! Thank you for your help! Maybe I'll give 'em a go on myself, because removing gel polish on me takes forever and I'm not so patient as I once was! LOL!

    Rebuilding a toe nail-need help!

I do this all the time for a few clients. I custom-fit a form (usually you have to split 2 forms and stick them together so it's wide enough) Prep the nail as you would for any acrylic or gel application and sculpt away. It can be done with gel, but acrylic is loads easier. My ladies that I...

    Dashing Diva NailGuards?

Hi all! I haven't posted in ages, but here I am with a question. Have any of you tried these things? Dashing Diva Products Granted it probably would be a baaad idea for those pesky pickers. I have a few clients for whom soaking off gel polish is a 45 minute ordeal. It just takes forever...

    Gelish glitter fade

Use a bit of cosmetic sponge. Tear (don't cut!) a piece big enough to hold onto. Put a few drops of your Gelish on a tile or plate. Dip the edge into the polish and sponge away. Some cosmetic sponges come with Vitamin E oil in them. If you only have those, wash them in dishwashing liquid...

Add glitter to inhibition layer or not?

I prefer adding it to the dispersion layer. I feel like it's better to dust it onto cured gel than uncured. . I'll take a bit of plastic wrap and wrap it around my finger and press the glitter into the surface. Also, the glitter looks more dimensional added on top.

    Limescale in pedi bath

Heat 1/2 cup white vinegar to nearly a simmer. Let cool a bit. Pour 1/2 cup Dawn dishwashing liquid (gotta be Dawn) into a sprayer bottle. Add the warm vinegar. Shake gently. It will be thick, but it'll spray. Dry your tub with a towel and spray. Let it sit about 30 minutes then wipe with...

Pre made Shellac cabochons/3D art ?

If you search YouTube for "FingernailFixer" she has some videos of making decals on plastic bags from Shellac. She paints the design on the bag, cures and peels them off. I'm sure you could use the same technique to make the cabs. If you use a hard gel, they would be more durable but you...

    Adding glitter to gel polish?

Some glitters will leech their color into the gel polish, changing the overall color of the gel. You're better off mixing the glitter into the gel as you need it or dusting it into the cured sticky layer before topcoating.

    Gell-off remover clips

I ordered 2 sets of ten from eBay. The dealer was Alfalfa Nail Supply. Not sure if they ship to UK. You could do a search of eBay and Amazon.

    Gell-off remover clips

Love them! They work great. Huge savings over the foil wraps. They're polypropylene plastic which is acetone resistant.

Lint free pads that are actually lint free!

    NAS 99 vs Surgical Spirit?

You're most welcome! Glad to help.

    Isopropyl Alcohol scaremongering

I'm thinking what the article is referring to is the shellac that you buy at the paint store. It's used for furniture refinishing and to seal woodworking and such. LOL, I never could figure out why CND chose that as a name for the product line!

    NAS 99 vs Surgical Spirit?

All you need is 99% alcohol. In the states I buy it from Nailite or Premier Nail Source but not sure if they ship to UK. You should be able to find it an any large druggist. Sally's also carries it. I never did buy into the whole crazy-high priced "special" products like NAS99 and such...

    IBX Restore & Repair?

Sorry if this was posted earlier... I looked but was going wonky reading all 29 pages. In the video, she was using a little pop-up LED lamp. Anyone know where I can find one of those??? In the US?

Gelish users, a question from a Shellac user....

If the Gelish (or any other SOG) is applied over hard gel, it absolutely won't soak off. I apply SOGs over hard gel all the time, but I use a good enamel basecoat between the hard gel and the SOG, and it soaks right off in less than 10 minutes. I'm betting your client has a hard gel overlay...

Soak off gels on gel enhancements

My reasons for soaking rather than filing are to reduce as much as possible the dust exposure I have. I have breathing problems because of the dust from years and years of filing. I use a vent system but it can only do so much and it needs to be emptied several times a day. My clients...

Soak off gels on gel enhancements

Good question! I just know it works! We all know enamel polish wears way better on enhancements than natural nails, so I'm thinking that it works like double-stick tape between the hard gel and the SOG, but it dissolves in acetone, letting the SOG release. Now I've heard of techs using...
