I prefer the mirror polish, as I find the shine define is a bit greasy :/ just my opinion though :) If your colour brand has a clear tonal value then that would be to either intensify shine and/or dilute colour so you should be right :)

If you find wella toners to be too dark, maybe use wella colour touch? the semi range and you can add 0/00 clear to dilute the intensity

Im not a matrix user :( But could you go old school if you had to and do a 2 step? bleach first, then tone? I would use blondor, and then tone with either 10/38 for a nice soft honey, or 10/1 or 10/8 depending on the level of ash and how orange/yellow it is :)

10 is the base shade, 1 is ash, and 6 is violet. :)
