    Pitting gel polish

Think I've figured it out! I asked her today if she's started using anything different within the past 6-8 months (when I noticed it started happening). She changed a few facial skincare products because her previous ones were discontinued. Was 2 or 3 products so I suggested she apply with a...

Tips hard to blend? And awful l&p!

The biggest mistake most people make is buying a cheap kit just to practice. There's a reason they're cheap. They're not very nice to work with. Not to mention you don't really know what else is in them. Best thing to do is to practice with the brand you want to use. Learn its mix ratio to get...

    Pitting gel polish

Yes and yes I've tried those already. Those were amongst the first things I tried. Nail fresh, ph bond, and protein bond (not together). Still pulled back on itself and separated. With the buffing the base and applying again, it still happened. Shes due back in two weeks and I'm just gonna ask...

    Pitting gel polish

Will do! It's just so frustrating to have a client walk out with substandard work when I know I can do far better if I knew what the problem was.

    Pitting gel polish

I'm going to ask her again what she's using and what she's doing before coming to see me as this was happening since November, and she's been my client since last January with no issues. I'm totally stumped! I mean If it was only Gelish doing it, I'd say ok well gelish base does that sometimes...

    Pitting gel polish

Yea Chela I thought that as well. But she's only using aveeno body cream (which I also use). She's swears that and cuticle oil is all she uses. She's not very heavy on beauty products at all. Took me 6 months to convince her to use moisturizer.

    Pitting gel polish

I thought that too. I went as far as to look at her nails under a mag lamp. It's smooth. A little peely hence the ibx but so is her left hand and it's not reacting the same. I've tried everything I could think of but I think I'm ready to throw in the towel. I've tried scrubbing the base on...

    Pitting gel polish

I think I've reached my limit with this issue. So I've had this lady come to me for over a year now for her usual ibx + gelish. At first, there was no issues, and her gel polish manicure was finally lasting longer than a week. But these past several months, I've noticed everything I put on her...

    Kim Lawless technique

I hope you can find the time to do it. I did Kim's training last summer with no intimate waxing background and left confident enough to start soon after. There are quite a few therapists offering intimate waxing in my area, but the clients who have tried me have all returned because of the...

    Help with sculpted nails

I used to use the Young Nails ones, but sometimes they stick just a little too well and it's almost like I'm waxing my client's fingertips when I go to peel it off. CND ones are ok but sometimes they pop apart on me. Nail Harmony one is good, too, but I find they're unnecessarily long. The...

    Crystal Nails advice

I know! I bought the pearls and metals one though and I can't fault it, but I suppose I could just mix my own with mica powder.

    Hi, discount salon questions

You just have to work hard at marketing yourself as a quality salon and avoid playing the price game with them. I have to deal with 9 in my immediate area alone. I get people huffing at me that I'm too expensive, but I get people who keep coming back because they've either had bad experience or...

What are your favourite acrylic paints to use?

All acrylic paint is water based. As an art medium they come in different viscosity but you can mix with water to get it to your preferred consistency. I don't have a particular favorite but I use the ones I use for regular painting because they're good quality, highly pigmented paints and...

Harmony has the small pots of colored acrylic but sold in sets.

    Cover colours acrylic

Wouldn't be surprising if it was to be honest. I mean you have the husband (or ex-husband?) owning one company and the wife (or ex-wife?) owning the other. Even their nail art techniques, product names, and brushes are similar

    Crystal Nails advice

The Crystalac is a gel polish. Acrylic is acrylic. They have similar colors and effects across all their gel, acrylic, and gel polish ranges. So you'll see a color in gel that's the same as a colored acrylic powder that's the same as a crystalac or one step color.

    Cover colours acrylic

I'm guessing so. if not, they're suspiciously way too similar

    Cover colours acrylic

These are the Prohesion cover powders. The plain French is the cool powder and the ornate French is the warm powder.

    Gelish changing colour!

Some colors just fade. It is a bit upsetting though that gelish has so many faders compared to other brands, but they last so well on my clients so I can't give it up yet.

    Gelish changing colour!

Yup. I'm wearing taupe model right now and that's what it's turned into. A weird tinge of green in it. At first I thought it was from my hair
