    Starting to do L&P

I agree with Angel Fingers, its always best to train with the product that you are going to use and most good companies will want you to do a conversion before they will supply you with their products. A lot of companies charge for the training and you will get the kit in with the price. Its...

Would having a Nail Trainer Hand help me?

Very true  I love my nail trainer and infact have been sitting in front of it all day! The blue tac idea sounds excellent and better than the method I used to use which was to blue tac tips onto pencils, guaranteed one would roll and ruin my work! x

    Nail shape

"Nailclass" helped me so much with my filing technique and the angles of holding the files aswell as brushes etc, I would highly recommend it! I used to dread anyone asking for rounded nails because I wanted them perfect but they always seemed to look a little wider on one side, I would file...

Minx lasting for ever on my clients toes!!!

I have been out of the business for a while but received my goodies from CND yesterday along with a catologue. I was intrigued to see "Minx" and if I had known about them before I placed my order I know they would have been included in my delivery! Haha! The designs are so pretty and I...

    Has anyone tried Young Nails?

I trained with with Young's and continue to use their products. I agree with what was said above, their products are lovely to work with and they have such a wide range you will be like a kid in a sweet shop!!! The training I had was excellent and as already said the Customer Service is...

NVQ or Creative for similar money?

I did my VTCT qualification before anything else and I am so glad that I did. The first 12 weeks were spent on manicure/pedicure, looking at the anatomy of the nail aswell as disorders etc. January to June was spent on enhancements, UV Gel, L&P and wraps, during which time we worked on clients...

Hi Again - Nail style update

Thanks Ang and Kelly, even though I've only done 1 set for such a long time my eagerness is back already!! I've got 4 sets next week each with a different take on French, so I can't wait, I'm not into easing myself back in, just get straight in there!! Are many of your clients still asking...

Hi Again - Nail style update

I just wanted to say Hi again to everybody as I've been off for quite a while due to a long illness last year. I'm back on track now and have just finished my first set of acrylics in 9 months!! Anyway, I just wondered if anyone could update me on whats really in and whats definitely out...

    Giltter ratio mix

Wow, its been so long since I've been on here, I forgot how to comment on a thread!! I always use a mix of 4 powder to 1 glitter. I usually use pink as it seems to work better for me but you can use clear or natural. x

best uv top coat for l+p?

Young Nails Finish Gel, I have used it for years and its fantastic over Gel and L&P. It has a 90 second curing time and all you need to do is finish your nails to the point where you would normally buff. It comes in a polish style bottle, gives a fantastic shine that lasts untill buffed away...

    Nail prep videos

I know that CND have them on their website because I had an email about them yesterday. There was one on prep, one on smile line placement and one on custom blending and they were really good, I think you may have to register to watch it, well worth doing though. Most companies that you train...

    CND Powders

Thanks, thats exactly what I needed to know. I often mix a little sparkle in with black for tips so that will save the hassel!

    CND Powders

I am about to place an order for some powders aswell as a few other items. I am going to order the Mosaic and the Metro Powders. I just wondered if anyone has tried the black mosaic powder and if you could tell me what its like?

How is everyone getting on with their bucket bags?

I don't have one but have heard good things about them. They look much more light weight than a lot of the beauty boxes/trollies that I have seen. If I were to go mobile I think I would opt for the bucket bag. x

How Important Is pink & white?

I just think its ashame to have a gap in your skills that can chip away at your confidence. If you keep practicing at it and have a skills update you will soon get the hang of it.
