Rio - where will they stop?

I was in my local Salon Services the other day and they sell Rio products in there. I purchased a Rio gel kit about 4 years ago now and that's what got me started on nails!!

New Tech - 1st complaint, do I refund??

That is so funny!! One of my clients, who I have seen a couple of times now, had been booked in to have a soak off. On the day of the soak off she called to say could I come the following day instead, no problem, I told her. The following day I got a text message to say I didn't need to call...

    Mehaz Tip Cutters

Yeah, i'm in agreement with Geeg, the box things are a waste of time, I never used them. They still leave the tips too long even using the shortest guide they were still quite long. I bought mine from the cash and carry at NSI but to be honest I don't think they are worth the money, think I...

    Acrygel ??

I am not a gel tech, I use acrylic but was thinking of getting some gel training so when I went to Professional Beauty at Gmex a couple of weeks ago I went to the acrygel stand out of curiousity. I must say I have to agree with what has already been said the product looked really good, the...

Help - I've lost the buzz!!!!!

Hi Kim, I used to feel exactly the same way as you. I was in the same situation as yourself too, stuck in a job that I so wanted to leave but I couldn't because like yourself I couldn't afford to plus I also felt myself that i'd lost the buzz for nails due to the fact I weren't getting many...

    Perfectionist? are you?

I am so glad that I am not the only person who thinks this way!! I am so critical of my own work, to myself that is, why I do it, I don't know. All of my clients are happy with the work I do, not unless they're talking about me behind my back that is, lol!! But seriously, I think it is a good...

    no.8 kolinsky for patting?

You could maybe try using a larger brush, if you put enough product on the nail you shouldn't really have to spend too much time patting, once or twice either side should be enough before you lick the product down the nail. I trained with NSI and use Attraction which is a really good product...

    Calgel or Bio Sculpture

I think the way I worded myself before wasn't quite right:irked:. I didn't mean to imply that any gel system wasn't kind to the natural nail I was thinking more in terms of removal. I have been doing acrylics for 3 years now, I haven't done any training in any gel system it was something I was...

    Calgel or Bio Sculpture

I'm not a gel user, i'm trained in acrylic and was just looking at the different opinions on the above mentioned gels, just something I was thinking about. I've not tried any gels yet that's why i'm having a look at weekend at what's on offer at G-Mex and booked a place at the Calgel seminar...

    Calgel or Bio Sculpture

Thats really good to hear about Calgel coz ive been pondering over gels too over the last few months. I trained in L+P at NSI and I know they do the Balance gel but wanted to use a product that was a bit kinder to the natural nail, am I right in thinking that Calgel is a soakable gel? I don't...

    NSI Products

I totally agree with all you NSI users:) I have been using their products for over two years now and wouldn't change a thing. Attraction is a fantastic product and makes application much easier, less filing too i've found. Glaze n Go is another fantastic product too, couldn't be without it!

help - getting started going mobile

Why don't you give mobile a go until you build your confidence up? I am a mobile tech but I have also done salon work and believe me you can feel under a lot of pressure in a salon if you haven't got the confidence. Explain to people you have just started out and maybe even do nails at a reduced...

help - getting started going mobile

I wouldn't worry too much about your speed, the length of time it takes to do a full set will reduce with plenty of practice. Electric files can be quite dangerous without the appropriate training, I would advise you to stick to doing it manually and you will be surprised at how you will get a...
