    Mobile tanning

Who are you training with? We are all going to tell you the brand of tan we use is the best, as are our machines. The machine part will be covered on your training. Don't buy cheap, it doesn't tend to work out that way in the long run. I love Fakebake, trained with them, bought their mobile...

    Young teenage workers

Also being young, he/she is probably use to being looked after, not cleaning up etc. I know I was! I was once asked to mop the floor & went about it, and pissed the owner off who told me to leave it and she would do it. Purely as id never had to mop up before, a stylist shown me how the next...

    Gastric bypass

The truth of the matter is a gastric bypass forces you to eat less so weight is lost. It isn't a magic fix or cure. I don't think it is as easy to loose weight as people imagine. Im struggling at the moment after quitting smoking, but if you eat less and exercise more it will come off. Its...

    Self employed stylist UK

Yes, legally you are expecting too much. Ok its not to say you wont find someone with the same work ethic as you, its just you wont have a leg to stand on if you wanted to enforce such things. The main one, which I personally wouldn't be sticking to being Self employed would be set days/hours...

Advice needed for self employed staff pay!

The obvious answer is, to employ someone. You cant pick and choose aspects that suit you around the law... Ie treating someone as an employee but choosing you want them to be self employed so you aren't paying them if they aren't earning. If you want control of any aspects of the business...

    Home bases business

I second this, tag them in pictures on FB. Ask them to 'share' so their friends can see. Or do a 'like' and 'share' competition on FB with the pictures. Im in the UK but I googled my area, lets say for you 'lashes in x area' 'false eyelashes x area' 'semi permanent lashes x area' 'eyelash...

Chances are she hasnt washed properly! Go and see the tan, take a couple of flannels. Ive had this before a client took a bath threw abit of water over her back to wash it. I actually hand washed her back and guess what? Not streaky. Ask her to shower again, emphasise properly. And go and...

    Male clients

Id probably feel ok with my regulars, id just maybe only take on new male clients when your husband is there. Would it be really obvious to your clients your husband is out? The fact they will have been to you before & seen your husband about they will probably be thinking he could be home at...

Spray tanning- where do you buy your sticky feet, gloves etc from?

Its not 'needed' but I always give the client a shower cap. They could have already washed their hair, just saves them 'needing' to wash their hair. Xx

    Mobile waxing

I use a pot & spatula, I have a 500cc and a 1000cc hive wax pots. I carry/transport them in fancy storage boxes, with them jammed in with my other equipment. So they aren't wobbling about. On my passenger seat, with the seat belt around. And I never carry them full to the brim either. I do...
