Nails- Do you do your own

I do my own. Have had them done locally a couple of times and believe the person had a problem with me. They lifted within two days. I know this person and her work and know she does good nails. I do prefer gel nails for myself and I'm the only person in the area that works with gel so that...

    Yellow Strip in Acrylic

she said that when it first happened after the new set was applied her mom buffed it off all but the one that I could still see it on. She said it was on all of the right hand and the thumb of the left. Now, I haven't been able to reach her directly since she left the msg at the salon Saturday...

    Yellow Strip in Acrylic

It was a new set this was the first fill. Little to no lifting. I use Creative (Moxie) liquid. The yellow looked as if I took a yellow hightlighting pen and drew a strip down the middle. I filed off up to 1/3 of the product thinking it wouldn't come back.

    Yellow Strip in Acrylic

I have not been on in a long time but knew this was the first place I should ask. Has anyone experienced a yellow strip from cuticle to nail tip in acrylic? I have had a client come in today, returning for her first fill, she has a bright yellow strip from cuticle to tip just in the middle of...

    truth or myth

I have been reading my lates issue of Nail Biz (a publication from the The industry Source/NailCo Group-US). In one of the articles/advertisments it mentions: Headline: Science & Medicine "Until recently it was believed that the cause of fungus and mold was either improper application...

    Steam cuisine or crock pot?

and another thing..............keep it on lowwwwwwwwwww. I forgot this little tip until the other day. I was trying to rush things because I got a late start with the setup, so I thought, and put it on high to keep the towels warm and then the client was late ~30 min. Needless to say I had to...

    Professional Nail Magazines

I am trying to decide now whether or not to renew with Nailpro (USA) or not. I find more useful info in Nails (USA). I would keep them both if I had more money. The story of my life. lol Just my 2 cents.

Pink & Whites Using White Tips

I can see now where my problem with my smile lines have been. I have been trying to make them just like the trade mags. And for one, I'm no where close to being there. And second, I just thought that's the way they should be. I'm glad to see that there are others who don't see it that way.

    horrible sticky stuff!

When I am finished with mine I alway swipe the tip with a little solar oil on a corner of table towel or paper towel to make sure the lid doesn't get glued on as well. I generally don't have trouble with mine. If I do it's usually something I've done like not rocking the tip on properly but I...

    CONVERSATION WITH CLIENTS

One of my client seem to feel comfortable releasing any and ALL infomation at times. But when you don't commet on on certain things she seems to get the hint. But I work out of my home so the atmosphere is a little more casual than a salon, still professional though. But I still have a son (3...

    Disaster

I thought I was reading a horror story. Like everyone said, it's going to be better now, it's got to. Just think, if you survived that one, you can survive almost anything.

How do you heat your towels?

I wet my towels then remove as much water as I can and place the towels in the crock pot on LOW before my client's appt. I caution you, they do get very warm, ok hot, if you do it too far in advance. But it's a simple way for me, b/c I just set the crock pot on a table beside my station and I...

How do you heat your towels?

I use my ele. heat mits with almost every mani. I use the solar butter wrap in plastic and have them set w/the mits on for approx. 5 mins. This is if they have the extra 5 mins. Most of them if they have had it once will always want it again. One of my best investments. I have never heard...

How do you heat your towels?

I use a crock pot/slow cooker. Put the towels in a little wet and set it on low for 30 min. or so, less if you use really hot water to wet your towels. I saw it at at show last Oct and it's perfect.

    Dare to show your face!!

It's a great idea and I have wanted to do it for a while but apparently you have to have the picture linked to a web site, right? Well that's the problem, don't have one. I have tried to make one of my pictures small enough for the avatar but I seem to have left that part of my computer...
