I have a quite a few Afro clients and I find in general their hair comes out really well. Are you using a good quality wax at the right temperature? Is the area totally dry? Maybe use some talc? If the crease is tearing maybe you weren’t stretching the skin enough or maybe she is on some medication?
I can’t believe anyone would “avoid the area.” I wax with no knickers and as soon as they’re in the door they’re undressed and on the bed. I use PR cleanser and a pad or a baby wipe to quickly wipe the bum (I do back on hands and knees) then I dry with tissue, apply oil or talc and then wax...
I only do intimate and trained with Kim 6 years ago. I’m always busy and after trying all the top brands I’ve been using both Kim’s waxes since they came out and think they’re the best.
On Kim’s course there’s only about 6 people at a time and it’s very one to one. I’d never waxed at all before I went and I think I was better than some people who’d already waxed because they had bad habits and I just did what I was told. Of course you won’t be an excellent intimate waxer after...
I was the same as you but ended up doing both courses together. I only do intimate waxing now so it was the best thing I did. If you’re travelling there anyway you should do both because once you do the first day I’ll bet you’ll wish you were staying for the second. Good luck.
Even if you use the hi setting you still need at least an hour to heat wax and get it to the correct temperature to use. Just using the hi and then using quickly after you will burn someone!
I think if you only use strip wax you are really limiting your clients/income. I trained with Kim Lawless 6 years ago and I only do intimate waxing with hot/non strip wax. I have a whole business with no other services based on that training. Using strip wax for anything other than large areas...
I didn’t like Pina Colada to use at all. I tried all the PR strip waxes and the Mojito one is the best. I now use Kim Lawless Curiosity Killed the Cat which I love. They’re quite similar but I think I prefer Kim’s. Hope this helps.
Kim is great, I trained with her 6 years ago. I used PR wax for a few years and tried all the other top brands but I’ve been using Kim’s wax since it came out and it’s the best I’ve used.
Use PR Cristalline wax. I have a client who suddenly because allergic to all wax after having a latex plaster on her c section scar. I use Cristalline on her and no reaction.
Beads straight in the bucket and with the strip I take the bucket out and put the tin in. When it’s melted I pour in the bucket because the lid doesn’t fit with the tin in there. 20 mins fast heat then it should be totally melted and set to 70. I turn mine on at 7am and start waxing at 9.
I only do intimate and haven’t really had any issues like this. There was once a bit of dried poo but I just wiped. If someone has a bruise/lump/anything unusual I always mention it casually in case they didn’t know and need to get it checked. Not stis, usually chafing from pants!
I use Kim’s wax but still use PR oil as I love it. If Kim produces an oil I’d definitely try it as it’s easier to order all my stuff from the same place.
In the middle. I don’t have a screen, pointless, just makes them more embarrassed about it. My clients are normally stripping as they walk in the door, I make it a comfortable experience!
