    Is Gelish, gel?

It's really just a matter of preferences I think. It takes me less time for Gelish than it ever did for Shellac.

    Kelly Osbourne's $250,000 manicure

Honestly, I think Rockstar nails look better than that, and for so much cheaper.... lol She looks good though :)

Gelish 6G or 18G led lamp?

I use the 18G lamp and LOVE IT! I can't compare it to the 6G though as I was using UV before. My nails sometimes feel a bit hot, but none of my clients have mentioned anything.

Can you recommend a good cuticle oil other than Solar Oil?

Well that's a first. I've never heard anyone being disappointed in Solar Oil. I'm sorry you're experiencing this. How long do you leave it on your cuticles? Do you only use it once a day? For clients that have very rough and dry cuticles I always recommend to use 2-3 times a day as just once...

    CND lamp for Gelish

When I started using Gelish, I was using the CND UV Lamp. After I got to try the Nail Harmony 18G LED lamp, I have to say, I'm NEVER going back to UV. The 18G LED cures in 5 sec and 30 sec. This cut down my time almost by half. Really doesn't seem like much, but believe me, it is. My 18G...

What lamp is needed to cure Gelish?

If you take proper training for Gelish, your trainer/teacher will indicate which lamp is best for you to use. UV Lamp works with Gelish, this is what I was using before with other gel polish but once I got certified with Gelish, I got to use the Nail Harmony LED lamp and it's really fantastic...

Doing your own nails with Gelish

Practice, practice, practice. Before I had ever done Gelish, I painted my nails with polish 2-3 times a week. I got used to capping my nails with base coat, color and top coat. I find it easier when I go in smooth-straight motions. When I'm slow and super cautious I find it's worse, I make...

    Gelish peach colour?

I haven't seen a peach color, but maybe you can get that effect by layering certain colors ? Or even mixing colors ? I'm thinking of Tiki Tiki Larangue mixed with a hint of Passion and Sleek White. I've never tried mixing Gelish colors together, but I've seen others around the forum...

    Gelish advice - white tips

Sleek White seems to "bleed" on top of other layers, so I've been thought to "dry brush" before applying the white french layer. I use any of my brushes, clean and dry, and quickly drag is along the layer, either it be Foundation Gel or whatever color you use for your french. Then once I apply...

    Nail polish with gel overlay

I've never tried nail polish under gel. But here are my thoughts. From my training, a gel system is made to be used with its own components. The reason why it lasts so long without chipping and cracking is because all the products together form a solid product that lasts. I would think that if...

    Gelish gradient/fade/ombré

That sounds like a great idea! Neon pink with a pastel pink! I'd love to see what it looks like once you tried :)

    Ph bond help

When I ran out of PH Bond, I used CND's Scrub Fresh and it seemed to work fine, just make sure that you use a bit more of it since it's not a brush you'll have to soak a cotton or lint free pad.

Harmony's pink soak-off artificial nail remover vs. green nail polish remover

If it says on the bottle "polish remover" than yeah, I don't think it would work for Gelish, considering Gelish isn't polish. Harmony doesn't do bad products though, so you can keep that one for your clients that have nail polish on their nails!

    Rockstar removal

I always have 2 layers of top coat with Rockstar, and find it does take a bit longer to remove. So if that's what you did, then that would be your reason.

    Gelish gradient/fade/ombré

I tried with Shake it til you Samba and Tiki Tiki and it didn't turn out well either. I think they are colors that are too similar. Maybe if you tried with Carnival Hangover and Ooba Ooba Blue together you could see the fade/ombré since they are not similar shades... Then again, the blue is...

The good, the bad and the ugly-Gelish colours!

Blue: I have Ocean Wave and Ooba ooba blue, I love them both. Ocean Wave has a bit of a shimmer to it and really reminds me of ocean water. It's a good color to layer with Black Shadow to make a darker blue since it's a bit clear. You need 3 layers to get a good color, but like I said, it's...

Removing Gelish, is it the same as Shellac?

I love the NH remover, it has this really nice scent to it.

Removing Gelish, is it the same as Shellac?

Gelish is a bit harder to remove than Shellac, use whatever acetone you have just as you would for Shellac, wrap the fingers with products on to soak in. Gelish takes 15-20 minutes depending how thick and how long the client has the product on. If you have heated mits or bags warm them up and...

OPI base coat and top coat, or OPI start to finish?

I don't use OPI, I prefer China Glaze, but I also use separate base and top coat. I found that the "all-in-one" coats tend to be a bit thicker and make bubbles even if you go over several times.
