Hey how did you get on with Joico? I'm thinking of switching

    Threading or waxing?

Hi All So I'm a qualified hairdresser currently looking to offer another service. I would like to offer eyebrow threading or waxing. I usually get my eyebrows threaded because it's cleaner, doesn't affect my make up and it doesn't take a layer of my skin off. However I've not met a non Asian...

Which best budget hair colour line to stock for new salon startup?

Out of all the more lower-end priced colour - I like Framesi. Guaranteed results and 100ml tubes (apart from their demi range). You could also check out alter ego as another option.

    Tape in hair extensions course

Hi all Anyone know of any decent tape-in hair extension day courses? Preferably in the south. I'm looking to only learn this one technique but most academies only offer courses for 3+ techniques. Many thanks

    Colour brands

Depends on what you look for in a colour line. I originally bought some blonde and light brown colour swatches online and bought a few colours from about 8 different lines that I was interested in and then tested them out. On grey hair too. I think to have one budget line, and one expensive...

    Bleaching roots

If you're in the South East you can get it from Lacy's. If you're in the SW it's Salon Concepts and up north is Alan Howard. Failing that - myhairandbeauty sell it. I really do recommend it. Just make sure you wash the hair thoroughly after with really warm water as it's an oil consistency.

    Guy Tang bleach

I tried big 9 creme bleach and to be honest I wasn't impressed - I had way more lift from Redken Flashlift. I was really expecting big things as I am a big fan of his - but with that lightener I didn't rate it. I will say however, that it didn't have any smell to it which was nice - as well as...

    Bleaching roots

I recommend joico creme lightener for this - it lifts roots so cleanly and is oil based

Using semi permanent clear as a gloss

I was thinking of using Matrix lacquer clear - but yeah good point, I forgot about Sebastian Cellophanes

Using semi permanent clear as a gloss

Has anyone tried using a clear from a semi permanent dye (non oxidising) as a gloss? No developer. Or do you have to use an oxidising one? With developer. Thanks

    Milkshake colour?

They sell the permanent range too but their website isn't great and doesn't have it on there. If you call them they will send you everything in a pack

    Milkshake colour?

Yeah you can get it from Phab Wholesale... I've tried a few of their colours and they're good - but their styling products are better

Mixing colours of very different depths

Hi all Maybe I'm asking a bit of a random question and maybe the answer is so obvious that I can't think of it!.. So I was wondering if someone could explain the following to me. I'm NVQ level 3 qualified by the way. But I've been watching a few American Youtube colouring videos lately and I...

    Paul Mitchell distributor?

Hi all, Where can I buy Paul Mitchell Permanent and XG Demi colour in the UK? I can't find it in any of the standard wholesalers - I'm in the South West. There only seems to be one wholesaler in Buckinghamshire that sells it. Thanks

Business is established, what are my next steps?

For anything not hands on like accounts marketing or website, as it's been said already, you could hire someone to do those for you. Websites like upwork are people all over the world including the UK whom work remotely and are looking for one off jobs or ongoing. Wages are reasonable and you...

Home salon vs high street salon?

Anyone have any opinions based on whether one would make more profit from a home salon vs a high street salon, when considering rent and overheads. Is it much harder to entice clients to a home salon? Thanks

    Rose gold hair

Looking at the colour you want to get it to which is about an 8 towards the ends.. she's not far off that. I would think it only needs to lighten 1 level, in which the high lift should work. You could bleach it, but for only 1 or 2 levels of lift, it's not worth the double process. Yeh 9.24 and...

    Rose gold hair

I don't use those brands, but I would personally use a high lift golden blonde or a 9.3/10.3 (with 30 vol), with a half an inch of of 66.22 / 66.23 or similar. If you don't have intense shades, you could use a little of 8.6/8.62, possibly get away with 8.5 for the rose.
