This is part of a project I am working on at the moment and would value the opinions from you the nail technician.
As we all know good education is worth it weight in gold. I'm sure that most of us come away from a class feeling motivated, inspired and elated. I for one get a real buzz from...
I have a client moving to Swindon later this month and is looking to continue having her nails maintained. P&W, hand filing only.
If anyone can help please could you PM me your details to pass on to her.
Many thanks,
Jane
Had a call today from a young girl asking if I could watch her perform a manicure & pedicure, write a report, take a few photos and send it in to her "tutor". Now I use " " because she's doing a home study course with the BSY Group http://www.bsygroup.co.uk/section_details.asp?section_id=h

Just out of curiosity I sat down and worked out how much it would cost me to do the new NVQ levels 2&3. 2 levels, 8 units & 30 assessments. Got a bit of a shock I have to say.
Eash assessment period lasts 4 hours so it is possible to do more than one in that time, (just as well if not it would...
Well not according to one major distributor in this months 'Scratch'. Admittedly at one point it's compared to 'traditional' acrylics but goes on to say, "What can be done with acrylic can be more or less done with XYZ gel.....". Doesn't once compare it to L&P.
Gel is the big feature in this...
One of my daughters clients has moved to Elgin, about 35miles east of Inverness, (I think!) The client thought she's already found herself a technician but called today because she wasn't happy with the work she'd had done. So has asked if we could help her find someone else.
TIA
I was admiring the stunning work of the competitors at the Nailympics in this months Scratch magazine, some amazing work and near enough a clean sweep for Tom Holcomb.
If I turned the clock back 30 years, practiced night and day I don't think I could ever be anywhere as good as Tom.
Do you...
We,ve had two trade shows quite close together and I noticed that this year there were quite a few new or fairly new products on the market. A few of which were:

IMN - L&P
Entity - L&P
Supernail - L&P
Cesars - Complete range
CND - Raw Earth
Chocolate Fountain...
I was due to do the Pre-Masters at Loughton next Wednesday 9th March. Unfortunately this has had to be cancelled due to lack of attendance, I'm gutted!
Anyway the class has been rescheduled for Tuesday 12th April. So if anyone is interested in doing this class you can contact Jackie on...
Found this over on the Beautytech site, what do you think, will we be redundant soon?
"I just watched my local news station and they featured a story on a dentist who has developed some kind of press on nails that fit the client specifically and the client purchases these nails and...
Maybe I'm being a bit too critical here but don't companies proof their photos before sending them off for insertion in a trade mag? I mean we usually see one or two that we look at and think "Oh dear...." but I've just looked through the latest Scratch magazine and there seems to be an unusual...
Can anyone please tell me who sells Nubar stripers. I don't want the pens, just the plain stripers. I've had a look but many dist just say "stripers", they don't tell you who they're made by.
Thankyou!
I have a client whose Mother lives in Skegness and is looking for a nail tech. If anyone lives in or around Skegness please could you either PM me or email me [email protected]
Thanks
I was cruising, as you do, and came across this Russian nail art site. Plenty of pics, thought it might interest some of you.

There are also some step by steps, little hard to understand though. esp this one, step 1, "Dope a primer with clear nail varnish"...
I have a client that has what I believe to be paronychia. Background - she has very tiny nail beds, is a nail biter, suffers from psoriasis and dermatitis all over her body, has to bath in what she describes as an "oil slick" has a host of food allergies. Nails have always been very short in the...
