I have recently bought a size 8 brush.. before I have been using a size 10. I have bought this in hope that it would be easier to control my acrylic ( from flooding side walls) what’s people’s preferences ?
What’s everyone’s thoughts on cnd training? I’m very much considering taking up the cnd l&p conversion course that takes 2 days. Hoping this will help me feel so much more confident with the application of my acrylic as this is my biggest struggle.
When doing acrylics I can’t seem to get the apex. Do I achieve this in application of zone 3 or 2? And still getting lifting from cuticle area and around side walls grrr . Always watching tutorials but they don’t apply beads in the way in which I was taught and they use efiles and not cnd...
I am using cnd retention and sheer pink powder . I am trying so hard to get my very best result and am following the 3 zone technique don’t get me wrong they are far better from when I first started I’m barely having to buff down the thickness and I don’t really get any bumps like I used to but...
how long is it going to take me until I’m happy with my acrylic sets? It’s been a year now and would say I’m doing on average two infills a day and one or two full sets within a week. And still not satisfied with my finished result. I try so hard in getting the preparation right and well I know...
Hey, reading this you sound so much like me when I first left college and headed out to the work place. All those feelings I felt that way too and all I can say is you just have to go put yourself out there and do it. I left college with no confidence and quite frankly very little treatment and...
So recently I’ve had a client where the tips are snapping off from the apex area and I notice that many of the nails I do I can’t seem to get the upper arch structure so I think this is why this is happening. What’s the best advice to be able to get this structure. My nails can often look flat...
Yes all the products we use at the salon is cnd including the lamp. So it’s not something we can exactly change instantly. Do you think maybe I am over buffing at the tip area which is causing the shellac to come away?
Always ensure that you give the bottles a good shake and I find that with all the pale colours it’s quite often that it needs 3 layers also I find when the polish is newly opened it is very very thin annoyingly. Over time and usage the polishes will thicken . And the fact they’re not lasting on...
Still confused as to why shellac is peeling away from the tip area when it is applied over acrylic? I am capping the ends as you should and top coating fully with cnd xpress top coat. Advice would be appreciated.
Thanks for your advice since your last post a while ago I have got a lot better having a new good brush has helped massively and I stupidly wasn’t wiping my brush after applying beads so my application was so wet and because of this when I went onto the next zone I would end up dismantling...
Did you say you cap the free edge? And if I didn’t really buff the nails there could be rough bits, debris. And that wouldn’t be ideal when painting over .
Hey as vinylux states there is no need for base coat at it is already in the polish. Like you said older clients often have more brittle nails and are prone to having already peeling nails. In my opinion I think the peeling has worsened maybe because of the buffing that is required before...
When it comes to applying acrylic in zone 3 I apply without wiping brush when I have placed acrylic which seems to work as the bead is then wetter and I can ensure a more flush result however I always struggle with the corners on the thumb as the surface area is larger . That’s where my lifting...
Done a few clients recently and they’ve come back to say the shellac had peeled off theire acrylic nail enhancements. When shellacing I am always taking care and doing a neat job I also ensure that my acrylics are well buffed before painting and I cap the ends of the acrylic to ensure longer...
I am currently using cnd acrylic at work And wanting to get some further training to help me however cnd course is pretty expensive and requires many days to to complete . Can I get just as good training somewhere else ? Closer to home and requires less time . I live in Hampshire area .
