    Gellux application

I find with reds (in most systems, I use Gelish) the colour is so pigmented that it does transfer to the top coat, I have a top coat that I use especially for reds :)

Help please with brushes got myself upset

Have a look on YouTube for "cutepolish", she does step by step tutorials then once you've found one you want to attempt practice practice practice!! It's the worst when everything builds up and you just feel useless but you've got this far! Just think about everything you've achieved so far and...

Newbie: What would you want to be told?

Don't let any criticisms get you down, use them as a tool to help you learn and improve! This one always comes back to me because yes, some people criticise out of jealousy but they usually try to insult your weak spot so make sure you keep learning and improving until you have little to no...

    Gellux dulling after finish wipe

I haven't had this problem with gellux before but I have with Gelish if I don't have enough top coat on my brush. I'm not saying to do really thick top coats but sometimes if there isn't enough it'll just seal the colour coat but not have the same shine as others. Sorry if this isn't the right...

    Reds not curing?

Don't worry about it if you're using the correct lamp and are convinced your prep is ok, I had this problem with hot rod red and I think it's a common thing with reds. I have a spare top coat that I use for reds and glitters because I was so annoyed at having a pink tinge to my top coats xx

    Kooky tipsies

What do you do about the growth? After a week mine needed doing again because you could see my natural smile line through the sheer polish xx

    Help applying Gelish

If the consistency is still thin after all the tips above, go back to your supplier. It could be a bad batch. H&NH swapped one of my bottles for me and the second bottle was much better, but I have had certain bottles that just need a bit of a stir and they're fine after that xx

Can you have too many choices?

If you'd asked me this two weeks ago I'd have said no but last week I had a client who was looking at the nail wheels while getting the colour removed and she changed her mind about 5 times up til the very second I was about to apply it (then she changed her mind again). I wasn't annoyed as she...

Is it like a swear word to say I don't like nail art?

I used to do nail art on myself all the time, couldn't get enough. I don't know what changed but now I just prefer a no fuss nail. I look back at pictures I did of my own nails and I do miss it but when I think of all the time I used to spend on my own nails I realise that I don't have the time...

    Gellux

I bought the easy off base for this so I'm hoping it will come off really easily, as soon as I've done this on my own nails I'll probably start buying more colours for the salon to use on clients. I saw one that was like a pinky red that I loved so much so I know exactly the next one I'll buy...

    Gellux

I tried Gellux for the first time yesterday and I have a few questions: Are all polishes really thick? I used magenta glitter and it seemed like the product itself was quite thick, I got used to it by the time I'd done one hand but I was just wondering as the one I had was a glitter so I...

Best Gelish colours - no fading, coverage with two or at most three coats

Hot Rod Red has fantastic coverage, Tiger Blossom, Carnival Hangover, Bella's Vampire. They're the only ones I have that are solid colours after two coats xx

    Signature gel polish

I've only recently noticed this brand in salon services (was looking for a specific colour that Gelish didn't seem to have). How does it compare to Gelish? I always love trying new products but haven't yet found a brand I've liked as much as Gelish xx

Want to convert from Shellac to Gelish

My Gelish training was fab and the tutors are always there if you need help. I haven't tried a gel polish that has been as good as Gelish xx

Clients saying Shellac has ruined their nails

This is one reason I'm actually glad that I don't use Shellac, they've done so well advertising that EVERYONE is calling any gel product Shellac. I do explain to clients who've told me that Shellac has ruined their nails that the products used aren't always shellac and that it's more to do...

Gelish client switching to Shellac & not happy

I know you mentioned that you wouldn't want the outlay of buying the Gelish system but your CND lamp will work with the Gelish system and I bet if you got a few Gelish colours in some of your other clients may try it, it could also bring in some new customers for you. I do agree that they...

How does the quality of ACG compare with Gelish?xx

    Kooky tipsys?

I've tried them, pretty recently actually (I'll see if I can link you the thread). Doing them in my own nails was fiddly but none of my usual guinea pigs were available. As much as they were ok to apply, I found them a bit bulky and after a few days wear I was reapplying them as they were...

    Gelish-advice needed please

What colour is it? Some of my heavily pigmented colours (the really dark ones) seem to do this like Bella's vamp. Flash curing is the only thing that solves it xx

    UV lamp from eBay

I got one when I first started out, I started off as a DIYer and loved it... Until a month later it sparked at the plug and never worked again. I started training and got myself one from salon services, no problems yet :) xx
