    Nails damaged after gel

Maybe it's not something you've done... clients can damage their own nails quite nicely on their own. If the nail plate is still smooth, there's white spots embedded (not on the surface), you are confident that you are gentle and proper with your removal techniques, I'd say it was the client...

Anyone do mobile or house calls?

I have a very similar table (more squarish) that I purchased from an ebay seller. It is was an EXCELLENT investment. I use it when there are no comfortable options, no space, client has a round table or a bar-height table, 2 or more clients, gel nail service, or I just want to be more...

    Stamping

I use MdU polishes, a Creative Shop stamper and a lint roller as well! Only pure acetone to clean the plates and NOT the stamper. I have Born Pretty plates and various others that I have purchased from ebay. I haven't purchased any plates that don't work. I have a few Models Own metallics that...

    Keeping pedicure water warm

I also have a Beverly Hills "Footsie Bath". It's FANTASTIC and the best investment I made for my pedicures. My health inspector had never seen one before and was raving about it to her co-workers! I got 2 new clients that are nurses after that. http://www.footsiebath.com/ Plus, their customer...

    Show me your Halloween nails?

I've had so much fun doing Halloween designs this year. Last year I was still recovering from a broken arm so business was a bit slow. I put something different in each nail and clients either chose something for their accent nail or went full on all 10! I'm looking forward to Christmas now.

    Vinylux vs other polish?

E Exactly! If a polish is going to wear for 2 days, it will remove in 2 minutes.... Wear a polish for 2 weeks and spend a bit more time and a different technique to remove it. It's worth it. I explain the exact same thing and I've even given a client ONE plastic backed pad to remove it. She...

Buying all colours - received new S2 catalogue

Cream Puff - It's a bright white but wrinkles if applied to thick. I have Cream Puff as well as Studio White. Some ladies like the bright white French mani and I do use it for handpainting. Highly pigmented and covers completely. Powder My Nose - Have it, don't use it. I bought it for an option...

Is CND Nourishing Remover stripping my nails?

Perhaps the transparency is due to the nourishing oils in the remover. I don't know about the stripping though... When I started using the CND remover my nails no longer turned white, dried out, delaminated or broke. After a couple of hours, apply some cuticle oil and see if your nails have a...

Problems removing stamping polish from around the nail

I use isopropyl alcohol and a lint free pad. The same one I use to remove the tacky layer. I topcoat then take the tacky layer off all 5 nails with a generous amount of alcohol. Then I go back over the fingertips and rub a bit vigorously. With very little effort, it all comes off. No need for...

Should you turn nail polish upside down?

Prior to performing the manicure, client will choose her/his polish. I give it a good shake. Yes, I shake the crap out of it, roll it upside down, right side up and check to see that those balls are moving freely! I will then perform my manicure and let the bubbles settle. I've never had a...

    New CND lamp on eBay

Why does this happen? It should not be allowed. I wouldn't buy it on ebay as there would probably be no warranty past the initial inspection when it arrived. http://www.ebay.com/itm/191575152614?rmvSB=true

    Client nail length query

I get this a lot too and I usually sculpt one with soak off gel to even them up. I use CND Shellac primarily and I find that Brisa Lite works like a charm, no buffing to prep the nail and it soaks right off so no infilling needed. By their next mani, there is usually enough to even up anyways. I...
