    Self employed, earning?

Everyone's circumstances are different. As long as you are able to cover your bills, product costs, service timings, national insurance, sick/holiday pay, and live the lifestyle you want to live, then what you are earning is fine for you. I highly recommend the Boss Your Salon pricing...

    Hema free help!

What are you finding not great about the brands you have tried? Is it consistency? Coverage? Longevity? If it's the latter, are you using the matching lamp for these brands? As that is the only way to test them fully. Also, training directly with a brand will show you how to apply their products...

    Gel polish recommendations

Bio Sculpture has transformed my business. Wouldn't recommend anything else!

    Natural nails

If you have onycholysis, it's best to keep the nails short and free from product, applying cuticle oil twice daily, until the nails recover. The weight of the product and constant application and removal is only going to make your nails worse and worse case scenario is you develop an allergy and...

    Issues with Lecente gel polish

Are you using the Lecente products with the Lecente gel lamp?

    Chrome nail art help!

I do my base colour. Matte topcoat. Wipe with IPA. Buff with a buffing block (I've used 100, 180, 240 grit before). Dust off but don't wipe with any liquids. Draw details with Nails Luxe black gel paint. Chrome with an eyeshadow applicator. Use a soft brush to dust off. Topcoat x

    Cancelling client!!! 😡

Why would anyone want this aggro for life? Some clients are not worth it imo.

    UV Light Allergy

As above, I think it's an allergy, most likely to something in the nail products you are using. Were you just diy'ing before you went to train to do nails? If so, it may have been low quality non-pro products (maybe bought from Amazon, Ebay etc). Could be from overexposure to the products if you...

    Best gel polish brand?

Canni looks similar to Bluesky and other cheaper brands. Most of the time, if you are going for cheaper, you will be cutting the quality also. You want to use reputable brands that are less likely to have dodgy ingredients/high quantities of some ingredients in that could lead to allergies etc...

Best way to remove gel polish?

I'd say acetone is the safest removal method although it may be drying. Try dropping some cuticle oil around the cuticles and hyponychium before putting the acetone-soaked cotton pad on your nails. Are you efile trained? It shouldn't hurt your nails if you are using the correct bit at the...

    Self employed

I just feel like a percentage vibe can get confusing and would probably benefit the salon owner rather than you. It's a big investment but you could built up slowly and provide your own stuff and rent the chair. x

    Best UV Gel Polish

It's really about your application as well as the product itself. Highly recommend Biosculpture. Very reputable brand, high quality, trustworthy, care about the natural nails, fab training, and amazing longevity.

    Biab application and curing

If it's not a dehydrator or primer by that brand, it's not guaranteed to work. Tbh, I'd change brands. Everything is formulated to work together and if the brand 's products aren't working together well on the nails, it's poorly formulated and a red flag to me.

    Biab application and curing

Are you using the prep products that the brand recommends? And the same curing lamp? Is it only on some nails or all nails? Where did you train for your hard gel application?

    Cancelling client!!! 😡

I also do non-refundable booking fees that can only be transferred ONE time, IF they cancel with at least 48 hrs notice. So I'd definitely add in the 'transfer' rule. With this instance, she seems like a nightmare, so wait until her next app, and if she cancels it, and tries to move it, say...

Check out Nailchemy. They do minis and they are a safe brand, they have their own lamp, and not known to cause allergies x

    New Client Problem

So you could either bite the bullet and think it was years ago so perhaps she has changed (maybe not though) but perhaps give her the benefit of the doubt, OR [controversial] say there was an error with the booking / block her from booking. Yes, it's money but I just think sometimes sacrificing...
