    Infill PolyGel

I'm new to PolyGel and still waiting on my course. I have been playing around with it on some clients as well as myself and am obsessed. Can someone who's done the PolyGel course tell me if you can refill over acrylic or should I completely remove acrylic and do a whole new PolyGel set? I have...

    Holo powder nightmare

I was having the same issue for so long and dreaded doing holo for exactly this reason. But I've found a trick that works for me! I apply a think but even layer of the wipe free top coat. I cure the thumb separately, and ask my clients to point their fingers downwards, like they're about to...

    Blending problems

You may be using good too much glue, maybe your acrylic is too thin in that area as well which causes you to see the tip line through the acrylic. Your tips may also be too thick

New to colored acrylic have questions!

I haven't experimented a refill yet, but as for the full set I did on myself it cut the time in half practically. Because normally for a regular full set with gel on top I have to: 1. Prep 2. Prime 3. Apply acrylic 4. Drill 5. Buff 6. Base coat/cure 7. First colour coat/cure 8. Second color...

New to colored acrylic have questions!

So I guess in general it actually ends up being more time consuming since you have to soak and start all over again. Hmmm

New to colored acrylic have questions!

Although I still consider myself very new to the world of l&p acrylics compared to most on here as I've only been doing them for about a year since my training. I've recently grown interest in colored acrylics, as they seem to be less bulky looking than acrylic with gel on top (which is what I...

Which matte gel polish top coat is the best?

I've recently stumbled across this picture on Instagram, and it made me realize that my matte nails do look like the left nail on this photo! I use the Gelish matte top coat. Does anyone know which matte top coat is the best? I'd love for my clients nails to look as matte as the nails on the...

Let primer dry before applying acrylic or not?

I'm new to acrylic, and I was taught to do one coat of primer, let dry completely before applying acrylic. Since I'm new to acrylic I like watching youtube videos to get extra tips and tricks, and I've been seeing tons of people doing one coat of primer, let it dry, and then a second coat and...

    OPI Gelshine?

I recently went to my local Sally's Beauty Supply in Canada to pick up a few things, and noticed a new OPI GelShine soak off? Has anyone tried this? I can't find any review online? Is it better then OPI GelColor? What is the difference? The lady in the store said they had just received it...

How much do you charge for acrylic? Newbie!

I'm not sure I feel comfortable charging full price because it takes me so long to do a set... Also my first couple of sets have had chipping and lifting.... the last few haven't so far, but that only means they're a week old..... so it's still hard to judge...

How much do you charge for acrylic? Newbie!

Here is an example I recently did on a friend. She let me play a bit, took me 2hrs and a bit. I did a white tip to practice my smile line, and then a topped it with Gelish Tiger Blossom which is what she initially wanted. This is the third set I've ever did. Working on getting a little closer...

How much do you charge for acrylic? Newbie!

awesome! I'm in Ottawa, I've been actively in the aesthetics industry for 6 years and charge high prices for the services I've been doing for 6 years, and feel very comfortable/no competition pressure doing so. This is the first time I've been NEW at something in the industry again! Very weird...

How much do you charge for acrylic? Newbie!

Just finished my acrylic course, and am introducing it to my services, and was wondering what everyone charges for acrylic with regular nail polish, and acrylic with gel nail polish. There are thousands of nail salons around, including the mall that I have my spa. Most nail salons around here...

Air bubbles under tip application newbie

I've been an esthethician for over 7 years now, and just recently took an acrylic course that was being held at the college in which I graduated medical aesthetics. I recently had a client who had very short nails naturally and very slightly curbed downwards. When applying the clear nail tip...

CND base coat under LED lamp

Yup! Once did an ENTIRE manicure with CND Shellac using a Gelish LED lamp a few years ago and since it was a very light translucent colour I didn't notice anything unusual. It wasn't till I applied the top coat and I had never seen so much color transfer to the paint brush did I realize I was...

    Skin care info

The spa I worked as use to have three skin care lines that would sell great together, we sold Guinot, Matis and Sothys. The most popular was Matis because of their price point being a little more affordable yet incredible quality.
