    Removing oil smells

Hi all, just wondering if anyone has a good tip for removing oil smells from massage sheets? I use polycotton bed sheets to cover clients and then towels on top to stop towels from staining. But the rancid smell left on the sheets over time isn't very attractive! TIA

    Dermaco Pro VX

Does anyone using this machine have problems with the probes corroding? I've had 3 pairs now that have started mottling at the ends where the coating has come off.

    Insurance for 40% glycolic peel

Hi, I'm looking for recommendations for companies that can provide insurance just for 40% glycolic peel treatments as I already have insurance for everything else with another company. TIA.

    Clients wearing masks

Too right, stick to your guns. After the long wait for us to reopen for business again, the last thing we need is to be blamed for rising numbers!

    Goggles to replace visor

I think the goggles have to be the close fitting type.

    Goggles to replace visor

I've been using a heavy duty visor, more for construction industry. Reflection is annoying and it's quite heavy compared to the disposable ones but there is a foamy headband which helps absorb sweat.

    Goggles to replace visor

I think as long as they are polycarbonate, then they haven't had time to think of alternatives yet. Although not specifically for the beauty industry, Bolle do some. They also do a flimsy version like the disposable type of visor so the "lens" are disposable...

    Goggles to replace visor

There is definitely less protection with the goggles as there is one less barrier in the nose and mouth area (from the visor). Plus, all this time we have been told that the mask is to protect others, not ourselves so it doesn't sit well with me. Especially with the number of COVID cases rising.

    Goggles to replace visor

With the new guidelines that we can now wear goggles instead of a visor (still with mask), I'm just curious as to how many of you think will swap? It is cumbersome having the visor but it makes me think that we will be less protected in the nose and mouth area by wearing goggles instead. What...

    Ear piercing systems

Hi, any recommendations for ear piercing systems that have thin posts on the earrings but also offer large and small studs? I've used Caress System 2000 which has always been fine but some clients don't like the big studs (they have thick posts). Also used Caflon Blue which have small and...

    Eureka moment

Good luck with it. It is a shame that you need a lot of financial backing when you have a great idea. Basically need to money to make money!

    Eureka moment

Hi there, just happened to come across your post and was intrigued. But I'm afraid someone might have beaten you to it as what you are describing sounds very similar to this: Safe-Guard treatment shield I too was thinking of a way to design something but have given up now that we have to wear...

    Eyelash extension protection

Update - I've found a few screens that have been produced for facials etc. Safe-guard treatment shield which slots into your face cradle part of your couch. Lemi do a spa shield which is a contoured screen on a stand with castors and Ellisons do something similar.

    Eyelash extension protection

Hi all, Just wondering if anyone has any ideas on how to provide extra protection for ourselves and clients when doing eyelash extensions? I will be asking clients to wear a mask and I will of course be in PPE. I was thinking more of a perspex dome or half tunnel shape but slightly sloped...

    Guidelines for returning to work

Thanks, both. I fully intend to wear PPE and ask clients to wear a covering. What's concerned me now is that one of my clients is a hairdresser and says that "they are only guidelines", she wouldn't be wearing PPE as it's for "only when you're infected" and she "wouldn't work if ill". She's...

    Guidelines for returning to work

Hello, I'm a little confused after reading the guidelines published today. So because some of our work is in the highest risk area (in front of the face), we are allowed to do treatments as long as we are wearing PPE? Or do we still have to be a metre away even with PPE (as in the 1 metre plus...

    Small business grant fund

Oh, dear. Sorry to hear this. That's why I wanted to highlight the issue of the occupier for that space being responsible for the rates, even when it's a room within another business. So many people don't realise this and it's in situations like this they lose out. Hope you manage to get some help.

    Rental payment during COVID-19

What are your updates, ladies? I work in a room in a building that is shared and the other ladies there and I all asked the agent to ask the landlord if we could have the rooms rent free during lockdown as he expected us to still pay full rent. I said that I would be happy to pay (for the months...
