Hi

My local small business development team has approached me. They run workshops and courses for people who want to become self employed. They are running a course soon aimed at women who are thinking of becoming self employed, and at this course they want to provide mini pamper sessions for the delegates at lunchtime, and are asking local self employed therapists to provide the treatments.

They have asked me if I will provide the nail treatments, which is fantastic as I get to hand out business cards while I'm there. I have to get back to the organiser and give her details of two treatments that I will offer, and each one needs to last no more than 10 minutes.

I was thinking of a file and polish, but with cuticle work these can take more than 10 minutes, plus if they have to go back to the course in the p.m and have to write their polish might not be dry enough.

So, so far I have a mini hand & arm massage with a choice of hand lotion, cuticle tidy, and one coat of clear. I cant think of anything else.

Does anyone have any other ideas on what I could do?

how about eyebrow shape? or does it have to be nail related?

Ten mins seated head massage or a hand and arm massage as this in itself will take 10mins!

Yes its restricted to nails I'm afraid. I'm only qualified to do nails, and they are getting different folks in to cover different types of treatments, so I will be on the nails section.

How about a mini solar manicure? Quick scrub with the exfoliator, wash down, quick massage with the solar silk, then solar oil, and no enamel. What do you think?

mini solar mani could be fab! I would do an actual mani on one hand then get them to make an appt for you to do the other:lol:

maybe some quick nail art with a clear polish over.

or what about good old fashioned nail buffing. show them how their natural nails could shine.

That sounds good and as an alternative you could do a nail shape and buff and some cuticle oil. I would just offer them what you suggested unless you have to give a choice.

ooooooooooooh yes you clever girlies I forgot about buffing! Will cost much less than a solar mini mani, a quick file (not so much shape, just file) and then buff, will be awesome and the people will be so shocked that just a buff can get their nails so shiney! dont forget to take some nail wipes and acetone to remove polish xx

Natural buffing is quite popular at these type of events
and it is quick, easy and cheap to do
good luck chelle

When your shoulder aches with the buffing, why not try a hand massage with a bit of exfoliator scrub. A big tub will go a long way and everyone will be impressed with the results.

Just a thought, but what about demonstrating the correct way to file nails and basic cuticle work.

I had a couple of friends round one night, and while I was doing a set of gel toes my other friend took an orange stick out of her make up bag and I was horrified at the way she attacked her nails, couldn't help myself but take her orange stick of her. After me doing her cuticles for her she went and bought a decent cuticle pusher.

dont forget to take a few bits to retail too if ur allowed!!

oooh some fab ideas there ladies, thanks!

I particularly like the idea of natural nail buffing. I have to do 2 treatments, but I have to have a choice of 4 for the organiser to choose from so she can make sure the treatments aren't duplicated by any of the other therapists.

oo yes and thanks for reminding me about retail, no harm taking a few mini solar oils just in case!!

You could ask the organiser what's planned for the afternoon session - if they're all just sitting there falling asleep  then there shouldn't be a prob.

Plus what you could do, those who look like they're gonna need work - buff, the others 'push 'n polish' and use your speed dry (whichever you use!) and do the normal blah about being careful. You know how us ladies can multi task!!! :)
