Hi Geeks

I've been practising on my sister since I finished my course. She's getting lifting after about a week. Not on all nails but enough that you'd notice.

Here's my prep. Apply vanish cuticle dissolve, push back and remove cuticle from natural nail, remove shine, dehydrate twice with nail pure plus then balance bond.

I've been using a 240 grit to remove shine.

My own nails were last touched 10 days ago. I have 1 with pocket lifting and a couple others with sidewall lifting. I have very deep sidewalls as does my sister.

Do you think this is normal for someone as new as me?

Also, how long does it take other hard gel users to do a full removal?

Thanks :)

Yes I do.

Pocket lifting because you probably wear your nails far too long (as all newbies seem to do) and they are not perfectly balanced and ...

Sidewall lifting because you are not paying attention to the details such as making sure you do not touch the skin and that you still have to 'work' the gel onto those side walls as well as you do on the surface of the nail. It isn't easy when working near the skin and newbies tend to be tentative in that area as well as in the area of the eponychium (the 2 most common areas where lifting occurs).

Thanks for your reply.

I don't think my nails are long but they are long for me. IYKWIM. I don't have tips on just NNO, but they are too long for me. I can't type properly.

I am finding it very fiddley doing my own nails when it comes to sidewalls.

I shall keep at it. Perfect Practice...
