This is my second attempt.. still have not be able to slim the hips down....
what do you think?.

to me, you have to thin down the end of the tip, before applying the product...

and also, file the sides so they are in the continuity of the natural nail ;)

Thanks Doorie,,
I will try that next full set... I am running out of models..lol
is there a post or pic on here of what a blended tip should look like before applying the product???

Hi, Once you have put your product on, at the refining stage look down the barrel off the nail so you can see the tip edge and thin it downbringing the file towards you..iykwim.till you get a nice shape.
As for the side walls, I find if I have my finger on the top of the file and invert it a little I get a straighter line.. just keek checking the line hun...hth..xxx

Thanks Doorie,,

Are you using Creative performance tips. I have just started using these last week. They are awesome. They need no blending. They are thin and flexible. Best stuck on with speed bond. Other glues don't work so well with them.
I wouldn't use anything else now
I used to have trouble with the hips being wide (on the nails) I followed gigi's brush angle guide so that by the time I come to the side walls my brush is on its side. This fixed it for me.
Hardly need any filing on sidewalls and smiles stay put right to the edges

Thanks Doorie,,

well, as it's been said, find out IF your tips need blending.

if they do... well they need to be as thin as possible. after all, it's just a structure you will "build" your nail on.

They look very pretty, nice nail art :)

Thank you..
Karen, I will get some of these tips.. they sound great x

WHITE TIPS DO NOT NEED BLENDING

Your overall shape is good, as said before, you need to bring the free edge product to a minimum by filing down the barrell toward you, then shape in.
You also need to file underneath the sides of your free edge/ tip before and after if needed to bring it into line with the sidewalls. hold the finger @ eye level when doing this and keep your file straight also.
HTH :)

I agree with Anna, you need to file underneath at the sides. It looks "droopy" to me there. If you file the droop away so it comes out straighter, it will look so much slimmer.

Hi anna,
I know that white tips do not need blending.. these were not white tips.. they were clear tips to start with and i have free hand made the white tip... I am trying to perfect this as i have been getting an awful amount of nail bitters.
I dont understand how to file from under the nail... I change the shape completly when i do that..xx

Marion.. I think the "dropping" is due to lack of filing teq as you said and also becuase I used a dramatic curvy and dramatic square "c" curve.. they are made by CND..

If someone could give me a "blonde" version of how to file under the sidewalls that would be magic.. thanks so much
