Hi,

I do hope somebody can help as I am finding it a bit of a mind field and receiving conflicting information and it is not assisting me in moving forward.

Firstly what is the cost for 3 phase electrics? I hear that a converter is the cheaper method to convert single phase to 3 phase, is this correct?

How many sunbeds can you run off the converters?

What planning does the sunbeds come under? I have been informed that there is no real planning and that it falls in Sui Generis but yet they expect you still to apply??? Confusing.

If I was doing hairdressing that falls under A1 retail and had 3 sunbeds would this get around planning??

Thanks in advance

I'm not much help with the costs of installing 3 phase as I was fortunate to already have it at my premises! I do believe it'd in the £1000's though. Any electrician can advise you more accurately.

Sunbeds would also still come under A1 retail as it's a similar bracket to hairdressing anyway.

Sorry I'm not much use but hope I've helped a little :)
