this might be a stupid question but i was wondering if it was possible to do 3d art work e.g flowers using gel products such as a sculpting gel
has anyone ever tried this? if so do you have any pictures or tutorials etc..
thanks for any replies.xx

I tried this once but i wasn't happy with the outcome.

Using NSI sculpting gels i attempted it but it seems to lose a shape a bit under the lamp. I didn't take pictures as it was so bad.

Why not give it a try and see if you can do better, It's just soooo hard to get that stuff to keep a good shape x

there are certain techniques you can use for 3 d effects with gel, but it is not as versatile as l/p acrylic.

theres a couple of tutorials on my site that might point you in the right direction.

Hi.
Well, may be this is not exactly what you are looking for, but I have made 3D gel heart with some rhinestones in it.

I managed to make only simple 3D shape in this way.

Make a mould with acrylic on nail tip covered with foil.
Remove the mould from the tip and wrap it with cling film.... you gather cling film back of the mould and pull it tight to make the surface smooth.
Coat this with builder gel and cure.
Now you've got a half cupsule of your desired shape.
Apply clear gel inside the cupsule and cure.
you can add rhinestones, beads or whatever you like inside it and place it on a nail plate.
Seal the line with gel and cure.

I have a few pics of this from magazine. (Cherry, butterfly, Heart)
I'll upload these later in my album. XXX
