A little advice please if possible

I have a client who has benn coming to me for nno with l&p for 12 months with no problems at all, unfortunately she has caught one of her nails and split her natural nail underneath the l&p very low down the nail plate. I dont know what to do for the best . Should I soak it off or just leave it alone ? If I do soak it off whats the best way to go about it ? I usually put a cotton pad with remover on wrapped in foil. Any advice would be gratefully recieved.
