Hi guys I was wondering if u have heard of this new chain of hairdressing salons that have opened up that offers £9.50 for all hair treatments, that's right! £9.50 for a cut, £9.50 for a colour, highlights, perms the lot! They even offered £5 off the £9.50 price when they opened for a couple of weeks! How can they even afford a profit on this and are these people actually qualified if this price of treatments is so low? What do u think? I don't think I would trust them, maybe I'm wrong. What are your views?

Hi, I was in Poole, Dorset yesterday and saw this, £9.50 for everything, looked a bit cheap and tacky to me.

This is laughable

Yea I thought so too, I don't think I would trust them to do my hair, it's too cheap and I bet u get what u pay for!

Don't think that will last if I'm honest, people just after cuts will soon complain about paying the same as people having a colour, and no doubt the colour will be cheap s*!t and not look very nice. Where in Poole was this I live pretty close to Poole would like to nosey in lol x

It's near Yates I think

If you look, it states that's short hair. In the smallest ever possible writing. So, in reality no ones hair will be that cheap I expect x x

I've seen this! Highlights small print is £9.50 for 12packets, well I would usually do ALOT more then 12 packets! So it would end up costing alot!

we had one of these in town near us and it also stated it was cash only! I think these places just open up in town centres where they get a good rent rate for so many months, they didn't last long, about 18 months I think...probably til the rent went to normal price!!

Omg can you imagine the products they are using lol. Can't imagine who would go there well yes I can and would you want them to come to .no no no Lol Luckily for me my best friend is a hairdresser only pay cost of product and trade beauty at cost xx

I have a few salons doing this near me its not really that cheep if your having a few things its £9.50 for your wash then £9.50 for your cut the same for blowdry and anonther £9.50 for straightning or curls. So thats neary £40

then for foils its £9.50 per 5 foils. This gets reduced for the more you have but a full head is still about £60 plus. Full head tints have hair lenght limit. X

they are a chain called cellys and have been about for ages now, think they are mainly on the south coast but they have a few up north like in wigan i think? youll find them on fb
like the other poster said by the time you add it all up its not actually that cheap, i went for an interview when i came out of college at our local one and you do have to be qualified.. she made me take my certificates with me. where the problem lies is that the people who franchise the branches arent hairdressers, the staff employed in the one i went too looked rough as anything, dirty clothes and flip flops on, un kept hair etc... i would say you get what you pay for but our local one is always packed, maybe because they are clever where they put them, there are a few very large council areas where we live, i think one of them is supposed to be the biggest in europe so for the customers with very little money its a way of getting a haircut, even if not a great one

they also do use a proffesional supplier for colour and perms, cant remember which though but i did look when i was there

Please tell me you are referring to Leigh Park in Portsmouth. They seem to be everywhere in Portsmouth!!! Again, like you said I think it is a south coast thing. I've only ever known one person who used hen, needless to say how I know his person is I corrected the awful cutting the salon had done on this poor older lady. She was devastated. Xx

lol yea but the salons in town.. i can only imagen what she was left with, although they wouldnt employ me as i didnt have any experience?? maybe looking back that was because i wouldnt have been quick enough to push 20 clients through the chair each day not because they were worried about the standard of my work ;)

It has been around for ages if you are talking about xxxxx? They are A"experienced stylists" but not qualified and by the time you add all the individual costs up it works out similar to a qualified stylist/salon.

hi there i came across these reviews and thought id say this...i worked for this company for a very long time and would like to say what it was like and put a few things straight. all the girls and boys i worked with were all fully qualified and did amazing hair. we used a professional product called goldwell which most of you all should know! and the prices are so cheap beause we did so many clients and had about 8 stylist in a day so made it as cheap as possible to cover our cost but still save you money. the whole short hair part is above shoulders so not really that short! as for the owners and most of the managers they are nice people and approachable. as for our clients they were a mixture of all, mainly single parents or old people, but thats because they were feed up of being ripped of by over priced salons! every stylist has to do a trades test on every service so we know what thier abbilities are and how capable and confident they are. the pay was the best i ever had being a hairdresser and the tips were amazing. we had lovely clients and only a few rough ones but you can expect that anywhere you work, thats life. so if anyone has any questions feel free to ask and il let you know

Might be just me but I HATE bad spelling on websites. That in itself puts me off and if I'm honest the price puts me off too

Never heard of them until now, but going by the reviews I've just read.. Hmmm

Why has this post been dragged up 2 yrs on?!

The prices are ridiculous, they would hardly cover my costs.

I'm sure some are more than happy with cheap conveyor belt salons, not somewhere I'd go based of the website spelling errors and price. 2 hrs to do a perm for just over £9 return. £4.50ph.... No thank you.

Just my opinion.

What do you mean ripped off by over priced salons? Do you not think our proffesion is worth being paid if we provide a good service and good result?
