A tantalising question to all you spray tan peeps LOL

Ok to do my monthly post here goes something to get you researching

1) who invented sun less spray tan solution and when

2) From what country was she/he from?

3) Which brand first took spray tan to the retail market and when?

4) which company and when took up the concept of self tan and made it commercially available to professional spray tanners?

5) Did the first spray tan solutions commercially made out of the U.S. contain initial colourant or was it clear?




That ought to keep you busy for 10mins or so...god I hope I can remember the correct answers :lol::hug:

I know Au Courant claim to have been the first sunless tanning spray. The founder/pioneer was Susan Horrell. I think she is American...the company certainly is.

Some would say it was Starr Hamson although this is somewhat controversial. Others believe it to be a friend of Starr's. Fantasy Tan in the 1990's claim to be the first producers of Spray Tanning solution, Starr of course is connected to Fantasy, based in the USA. Coppertone were the first to introduce self tanners in the 60's. Clear was used initially I think.
